ReinyRooster Posted July 23, 2013 #1 Posted July 23, 2013 I just wrestled with removing the aux front lights...now I'm new to the RSV but man, there has to be a better way....I assume it's the same for everyone but the mounting holes are just far enough above the bottom edge of the fairing to make it next to impossible to get to! Has anyone fabricated a bracket that would lower these lights by about one inch?
spike13 Posted July 23, 2013 #2 Posted July 23, 2013 i have seen them on ebay and i thought i had seen them on here
darthandy Posted July 23, 2013 #3 Posted July 23, 2013 Here's a bit of info regarding that subject. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56389 Another way to handle the problem is to weld or even epoxy the spacers to the light bar. It makes removing / replacing the light bar much easier. Andy

ReinyRooster Posted July 23, 2013 Author #7 Posted July 23, 2013 Have a 6mm ball allen driver...my issue is the angle that I have to go to get at it is such that you don't get enough bite on the head of the bolt to turn it. Gotta look into some sort of offset spacer...... Darthandy...thanks for that link...I'll follow up on that.
XV1100SE Posted July 23, 2013 #8 Posted July 23, 2013 Passing light spacer? Contact Slowrollwv. He also makes carb and "twinkie" covers.
playboy Posted July 23, 2013 #9 Posted July 23, 2013 If you do move the light bar forward be sure and extend the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the wind deflectors so that they stay in contact with the fork tubes. Rubber stoppers are available @ Lowes in the hardware section just drill a pilot hole in the rubber and replace bolt with stainless screw. Pick out a long rubber stopper so you can trim excess if needed.
djh3 Posted July 23, 2013 #10 Posted July 23, 2013 Hmm I know its on a pretty good angle. I wrapped a piece of tape around the allen where it contacts the fairing to keep from marking up the paint. Mine is either a MAC or Snap on allen maybe 6" long. I have seen sort of an offset "l" looking bracket. Mounts with studs maybe to the forks where allen bolts go now, then drops maybe 1/2" down and forward about maybe the same. Allows removing the fairing without removing the light bar.
