dysfunctional33 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I have been having fuel mileage issues and irratic running on my 84 VR. one day i would get about 40 mpg and the next day I would get 34 mpg. It would run nice and smooth for a day or two and then run ok but not that great. Ive had the carbs synced twice thank to Orlin. And I really appreciate him doing that for me the first 2 times. Still didnt fix it though. So today I decided I was gonna try and find the problem and check on a couple other things. What I found was that the #1 and #2 carbs were not seated all the way down in the boots. Once I got them seated and fired it up it was running extremely rich, so once again I was off to Orlins for another carb sync. Ran great on the way home afterwards. It felt like a completely different bike. And while at Orlins he discovered a few spots where cords were starting to show on my front tire so while I was there we swapped my tire and rim for one in better condition. Thanks for looking out for me Orlin...... I will let you all know at the end of the week how its running. I will be filling up with a fresh tank of gas after work in the morning...
OrlinEngh Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 It sounded better when you left, hope the bug is worked out of it. Keep me posted. Orlin
Squidley Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 That will definitely give you issues, I'm glad to hear that you found it. Now the bike should stay synced right, run a few tanks and let us know how it turns out
