Yesterday (Sat July 20) we were in Westport (ON) and saw a brown '85 Royale parked on a side road a block or so from the main strip.

Anyone here?

Marcarl perhaps?

Nope...not Marcarl...no flag posts but I didn't notice if it had the stainless lower filler bits.

I would hope Carl would have told me if he was coming up this way. I've promised to show him some real good riding roads.

AS of now planning on running Hwy 2 I think it is most of the way to Bowmanville.

pm me when you get close....I might just join you for the ride. I could meet you at the border crossing or in Kingston.

If I remember it that far ahead. I'm hoping the boarder crossings go well. Not as worried about gettin in as out. WE are going out Mon am on the peace bridge. This was suggested by a member here as oposed to the niagra crossing I suppose. Prob way more turestias on labor day there. I'm on a mission getting home. 1408 miles in 2 days.

OK....I hope you are talking about the RETURN trip you are crossing at Niagara?

Cause if you are talking about taking #2 around from Burlington to Bomanville you are going to take FOREVER!

It's like City driving the whole way.

going west on #2 from Gananoque to Bomanville is different. Still lots of towns to slow you down...but no comparison to coming east from Burlington

+1 on that. Old #2 from Bowmanville to Burlington is just one long city street (30 mph speed limit) with lots of lights and traffic. You'll take an hour and a half ride and turn it into a 2 1/2

hr to even 3 hour ride! It won't be scenic and it won't be fun. I'm not sure if it's even still marked as # 2. It may just be a street name now that changes with the municipality.

Steve, no on the west to east. Entry into Canada we are commin in over by Kingston/Gananoque riding the Hwy 2 westbound. Outbound from Bowmanville going to try to stay off tool road and head west on 401 I think it is to QEW to the bridge.

Yep....from Bomanville you want the 401. (In Ontario the major highways are all 400 series numbers)

Choices, as they come....

Depending on the time of day (NOT rush hour!!!) you could take the 409-Don Valley Parkway and (Queensway???-elevated highway) to the QEW and pass close to downtown Toronto and right beside the CN Tower and Air Canada Center (Maple Leafs-Raptors) and Roger's Center(Blue Jays).

If you don't care about seeing downtown at all then you can take ....

401 to 427. That is pretty much directly S. to QEW . Not scenic

I Usually go 401 past the Toronto International Airport and catch the 403. It angles SW towards the QEW....other than the airport traffic...not much to see.

Then the QEW to Lewiston, Niagra or Fort Erie or wherever you decide to cross.
