Atoolnut Posted July 19, 2013 #1 Posted July 19, 2013 We have a planned trip for 10 days around Gatlinburg Ten...I have looked at all the 'typical' rides ie dragon etc. But was wondering if any one has Google map routes of their favourite yet less known areas to ride..we are not worried about riding a couple of hours to get somewhere to ride...live in Ontario its part of riding...also any places of interest that should be seen ..ie towns etc....we will travel I75 down to Kentucky then back way to gatlinburg..any suggestions.....all roads through the smokies are open?. Thanks for any info
Kirby Posted July 19, 2013 #2 Posted July 19, 2013 Just get off the main roads and hit the roads less traveled. Slow down and don't forget to take your camera. Just about any road you take up there is great!
2WHEELSFORME Posted July 19, 2013 #4 Posted July 19, 2013 The area around Gatlinburg is filled with cars. I much prefer the south side of the Smokies. North and South of Ashville is great roads and little traffic. Google "Ride America maps" Expensive but very nice.
djh3 Posted July 19, 2013 #5 Posted July 19, 2013 Gattlinburg and Pegion Forge has lots more cars. Be carful there. Here is a link to some good roads on the south side of the area. On the lift of page is more links to good roads. If going on the Dragon I suggest a weekday like Tue-Thur. Less cars and yo-yos thinking its a racetrack. Here is a link to a friends web site. They do video of some trips they do. Look on this page for "Blue Ridge Mountian" its at the top. On thier home page they have maps and GPS cordinates also. You can look here on this site also in the favorite roads and destinations section. So many it will make your head hurt.
