Wife thinks I'm nuts!!!!!

My wife thinks I'm nuts because I go out side in the garage and work on the bike in this hot highly humid weather. Its 90F out with the humidity its equivalent to 100+F here. But I really don't notice it that much. I have worked in high temperature's all my life in the military and in civilian fields of endeavor. Now I find my wife's view of this as odd since she comes from central Africa, Northern Rhodesia, I believe it called Zambia now. She was born at Stanleyville, and lived near Victoria Falls.

WHERE its EXTREAMLY HOT and HUMID!!!!!

She hides in the house out of the heat and has a fit when I come in from working on the bike soaked from sweating. I take a shower eat supper then we, wife and I, go outside and have a couple sundowners, drinks, and watch a few bikes go by and stare at the fireflies. I think that is a perfect way to spend a day. Working up a sweat doing something you love, then relaxing in the evening with the person who loves you enough to not only put up with your expensive hobbies. But who also supports and helps with them. I wouldn't change a thing.

I do the same thing at my house. I love working on my bikes so I spend a lot of time in the garage every evening tweaking and cleaning, listening to music and generally enjoying my hobby. My wife is also very supportive of my motorcycle passion. I do have a couple fans in the garage and a couch and chairs so I can have company while I work. Just don't clutter up my work bench with family stuff and leave my dang tools alone. If you use them put them back! That's pretty much my only rule.

Well said, and I agree. Sometimes my biggest fear is that she will loose interest and not wanna ride anymore. But I do know I sure would miss her.

Well put!! Having a hobby you both can share and really enjoy will only bring you closer. We have spent a lot of miles, seen much of this beautiful country, and have many irreplaceable memories since we got the RSV.

I don't work on my bike too much,,, got tooo many others who are in need of a good ride, so I work on theirs,,, and have no problems with the heat. Feels good in fact, seeing as I worked in AC most of my life. Now when I'm finished, I do like the cool, and I do like snow better than dry grass.

The wife came out to see if I was OK yesterday afternoon. There seems to talk about having me committed! The mother in law keeps bringing it up with her! It seems to have to do with me waiting until the heat is at its worst before I go out side. I do all the running around and checking my email and checking in here before I hit the garage.

BUT the wife still comes out around five, six maybe seven when I decide to call it quits for the day and make up my list of needs for the bike to pickup. She brings me my sundowner and we have nice chat Which is her wanting to know "When the bike will be done". And "It's not going to be ready this year is it!":backinmyday: She wants to ride it this year. Which is odd for a person who is afraid of falling off motorcycles.
