I went into a Gander Mountain on the west side of Columbus yesterday to see if they had any .22 ammo. I didn't expect to find any but I stop and look from time to time. I bought two 50 round boxes a couple of weeks ago at Fin, Feather and Fur in Ashland and it was the first time I have found any there in months. They had a two box limit though.

I was surprised yesterday to find 500 round bricks of Federal, plenty of 50 round boxes of CCI and 525 round value packs of Remington. I picked up a 525 round box of the Remington. Didn't ask if there was a limit or not because that was really all I needed.

Are you folks finding it in stock now or did I just happen to stop by at the right time?

havn't seen it getting better in mid mich yet. But did hear some disturbing news. A DNR officer said he had been going to box stores when they get ammo and buying entire shipments, over 3000 dollars at a time thru his work position. I would like to know if there is any truth to this.

The scare has calmed. Nothing has been in the news lately to provoke the doomsdayers. Govt has had other things to flap thier jaws about to the press. You know elections are only 4 months or so away so need to get thier opnions out to the press. Same kinda crap back during the aleged "gas shortage" years. Everyone got spun up and amazingly it happened. Then it all straghtened out. Although it cast much much more for it. I'm suprised the EPA lets them still make bullits with lead.

I just got 3 bricks of .22 cal Aguila from Midway. My grandkids will go through a brick on a range trip if I let them. They both shoot in 4-H so Grandpa has to help with the practicing.......

I got two bricks of .22 at Dicks and they charged $30.00 for them. I got a call from a friend and Farm & Fleet had some in the back room, same stuff $20.00.

So what are the prices?

If it was the price of gas the attorney general would go crazy about price gouging

I haven't been paying a lot of attention because I stocked up BEFORE the election. :stickpoke:

A couple weeks ago I was through the sporting goods section at Walmart and did notice they seemed to have more ammo in the case, but still not full. Last weekend I was in a gun shop and their shelves were bare.

I bought the Remington 525 value pack. Brass-plated hollow points and they were $24.00. They Federals were $19.00 for the 500 count. Not sure if they were plated, lead, hollow points or whatever.

Well, just to be safe, I just stopped at a different Gander Mountain and picked up another 525 count value pack. This store had the Remington 525 value pack and plenty of 50 count boxes of CCI but did not have the Federal. I was going to see what they were.

At any rate, with the purchases from the last two days and what I already have at home, I should be set for a good while.

Also remembered this time to pick up a box of 00 buck which I had been meaning to do for MONTHS and kept forgetting. I have an old Stevens 311 double barrel with 18" barrels that I keep around just for the heck of it. :)

Around here .22 is almost impossible to find. I have more luck getting 9mm and 45. I still have to time it just right at the Wallymart. They get theirs in the afternoon around 6pm and if you wait till the next morning its all gone. Seems the .22 is first to sell out. But we have a new Academy opeing this weekend, I will be there and see what I can get. You cant have too much ammo these days, who know when the zombies are going to attack...................LOL.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I won't need 22 ammo for at least 10 years. I use to shoot competition but sold all my 22's but one. I have at least three and a half cases. What is hard for me to find is powder to reload for my other rifles. I use IMR 4350, IMR 4831 and IMR 4320 and can't find it anywhere.:depressed:

Lucky for me I gues but a buddy of mine owns a local gun store......he knnows my weapons and the wifes( he sold most of them to us) and just calls when what we use comes in and we tell him how much we want put back. We ahve to stay within his box limit. The only benefit of being his friend is we get called to see if we want it or not. And CCI mini mags are all that will shoot and cycle my wife Walther p22.......anything else gives her a ftf or fte. Most of the time the lower velocity ammo will fire and partially load and you have to do the slide tap trick to get it to follow through to reset.

Same goes for IMR 4227. Try to find it.

In NNY try to find any .22 Good luck, and if found, 2 box (as in of 50) limit.

I am waiting on delivery of an older Marlin 1894 (pre Remington!) in .44 Magnum. Assuming the idgit local gun shop owner decides to be open sometime soon.

Just bought 3 boxes of non reloadable Blazer so I have something to shoot in it when I get it.

I do have a butt load of .357 if anyone needs some at normal prices.

I used to have a Savage with a 12 inch barrel. Talk about a pattern!! It had none. What ever was in front of it got hit.
