XV1100SE Posted July 15, 2013 #1 Posted July 15, 2013 A reminder to stay vigilant when out on the roads. Bike crash today near here caused by tire debris from a truck that lost a tire. http://www.therecord.com/news-story/3893041-fiery-motorcycle-crash-closes-hwy-401-lanes-at-townline-road-in-cambridge-for-hours/ Good time to give the bikes a good going over too - tires, brakes, loose nuts (on the bike)...
Snaggletooth Posted July 15, 2013 #2 Posted July 15, 2013 Good point. Been one of the worst rider seasons I've seen around here. Seems like almost daily there is more local news coverage on another rider going down and not lightly. They had a situation on I-80 here in town the other day. A 7 ft long, 35 lb section of steel they had be using to cover a gapping seam on the bridge flip up. Damaged 12 cars and sent one into the ditch. Nobody saw it until they hit it. Bike would have never made it.
Huggy Posted July 15, 2013 #3 Posted July 15, 2013 Ya hearing about a number of bike accidents in the area and there all cagers not seeing the biker!! Number of them pulling out in front of biker or turning in front of the biker:confused24:. Only heard of one or two that where bikers fault.

sarges46 Posted July 16, 2013 #5 Posted July 16, 2013 Watching a Manitoba news cast this evening they told of 3 different incidents with motorcycle fatalities over the weekend!! There was a young couple killed the other day just out of town a mile. Delivery van pulled out in front of them on the highway. Driver killed instantly passenger succumbed to her injuries the next day. Driver of van still in hospital. Yesterday another biker went into the wrong lane and hit a truck pulling a camper. He died and the couple in the truck went into the ditch trying to avoid the bike, flipped the whole thing but got out before the thing was burnt up. Scary out there sometimes!
