friesman Posted July 15, 2013 #1 Posted July 15, 2013 (edited) I was having a thought today, (yes, I know that it's a dangerous thing!) about how many Canadians are in the US working in the entertainment industry. I think its time to let you Americans know that we Canucks are on a stealth program to take over the States. I had no idea that there was this many Canadians working in the US in high profile jobs, and I am sure there is more that I havnt thought about in the 10 minutes it took to do up this list. Anna Paquin Ryan Reynolds Ryan Gosling Fay Wray Paul Haggis Jason Reitman Donald Sutherland Kiefer Sutherland Matthew Perry Nathan Fillion Stana Katic Guess Who Rush Justin Bieber William Shatner Paul Anka Jim Carrey Mike Myers Seth Rogen Ellen Page James Cameron David Cronenberg Eugene Levy Will Arnett Dan Akroyd Martin Short Neve Campbell Hayden Christensen Lorne Michaels Tommy Chong Catherin OHara John Candy Rick Moranis Dave Thomas Elisha Cuthbert Michael J. Fox Brendan Fraser Rachel McAdams Leslie Nielsen Christopher Plummer Tricia Helfer Shania Twain Lorne Greene Neil Young Pamela Anderson Alex Trebek Peter Jennings Bob McKeown Keith Morrison Jay Onrait Dan OToole Raymond Burr the Sheepdogs Bryan Adams Colin James Steppenwolf Buffy St. Marie Joni Mitchell Anne Murray Howie Mandel Gordon Lightfoot kd lang Leonard Cohen This list was meant as a fun look at how similar our 2 countries are, and not to be a political pot-stirring post. Thanks for keeping it light and fun. I am sure there is a very large list of Americans working in Canada, so this should be looked at a job exchange. Beware, of the silent polite takeover!!!! XV1100SE Posted July 15, 2013 #2 Posted July 15, 2013 + Neil Young... Most Canadians don't like to mention Justin Bieber. The Americans can adopt him if they can stand him !
Bubber Posted July 15, 2013 #4 Posted July 15, 2013 That's funny because the other night on a re-run of Big Bang Theory, Sheldon mentioned something about the US being invaded by Canada. Closer to the truth than he knew. :rotf:

Stache Posted July 15, 2013 #10 Posted July 15, 2013 Trebec is an EX-Canadian. US citizenship. Canadian born? Yes. Canadian? No.
Trader Posted July 15, 2013 #11 Posted July 15, 2013 How to combine religion and politics into one post...... It doesn't really matter.....do you think God cares about a dotted line on a map?
ragtop69gs Posted July 15, 2013 #12 Posted July 15, 2013 Maybe we should enact a law like Canada has, If there's an American that can do the job, then No Canadians can come here and take the work. Since there's a lot of unemployed actors we should deport them all.

Since there's a lot of unemployed actors we should deport them all. There is a law like that, according to my info. My 1st ex is living in AL, married to an American, and hasn't worked in the 12 years she is living there as she cant get a work Visa. Its all up to the companies to make a case that the import can do the job that the citizen cannot. I think both the US and Canada have similar laws. Brian Edited July 16, 2013 by friesman spelling

mini-muffin Posted July 15, 2013 #19 Posted July 15, 2013 We'll keep Shatner but you need to take back that little s#$t Beiber. I think having sent him here was cruel and unusual punishment for all of us not little 8 yr old girls. Margaret
Prairiehammer Posted July 15, 2013 #21 Posted July 15, 2013 (edited) I know, I know, he's long gone, but has everyone forgotten Lorne Greene? You know, Bonanza! And don't forget: Pamela Anderson. Talk about the Great White...um! Or Raymond Burr. "Perry Mason". John Candy. I can't believe I just mentioned Pamela Anderson and Raymond Burr in the same post. Edited July 15, 2013 by Prairiehammer
Huggy Posted July 15, 2013 #22 Posted July 15, 2013 Now all we have to do is figure out how to get the ospring of one of our Canadian under cover entertainers into the White House:whistling:. And the take over will be complete!!!!!!!! We will rename the new country CANUSA!!!!

meach Posted July 16, 2013 #25 Posted July 16, 2013 Maybe you're too young but can't believe Gordon Lightfoot wasn't on the tip of your tonge when it comes to Canadian singers, one of the best ever. His double album "Gord's Gold" is on my garmin mp3, nothing like having Gordon playing riding down the highway. Another one I don't normally listen to that wasn't on the list is KD Lang, her performance of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame was awesome (was also sung at winter olympics in Vancouver back in 2010, I think she also sang in 88 at Calgary olympics )
