Bummed out

Got into town yesterday after a few weeks on the road. Good friend called today and told me he sold his Black Cherry Venture. I would have bought it but didn't know he was selling. It had a PCW 1500 cc engine and V-max rear. Think I will go kick an anvil.

Had a deal go south on me back in the 70's for a Panhead rigid with a springer front end. But I knew the guy, a coworker was selling it. He had about 10 grand in it with the paint, chrome, engraving and paint. Nice street and show bike. He was going to sell it for $8,500. He told me I could have it for $6,500.

 

Off I went to gather the funds. Took a few days and I called him and told him to hang on to it I was still a couple grand short. He said he would let it go to me for $5,000 if I had the cash.

 

I said I'd be over on Saturday. I could scrape up another $500.00 by then.

 

Showed up Saturday with cash and a grin ready to ride it off. He just shook his head and said he sold it the night before. I asked him if he got more money for it or what.

 

Nope, he let if go for $2,500 bucks.

 

I had to ask WHY???.

 

The wifes lawyer called.

 

Couldn't blame the guy. But dang man..........
