ReinyRooster Posted July 12, 2013 #1 Posted July 12, 2013 Wow.....am I excited! Had been checking the local dealers daily looking for a nice affordable 2nd Gen.....missed out on two cause the Wing wasn't sold yet......had shopped two nice U.S. bikes....one in Michigan and one outside of Buffalo....was gathering up all the phone numbers and names to start calling them today....late last night my daughter sent me a link to a beautiful 2006 purple ( can't remember the correct colour name) at a local dealer....they just got it in that day! Well....barely slept all night....was at the dealer 20 minutes before they opened! Took it for a test and gave her a good check over......it's now mine!!! Has 45,000km ( 27,000 miles). Did I mention I'm excited!!! Now I'll have all kinds of questions...how you're patient with me. I'll post some pics next week.:cool10:
Stache Posted July 12, 2013 #2 Posted July 12, 2013 Well done you. Enjoy the ride. At 45000 it's probably just about broken in.
bongobobny Posted July 12, 2013 #3 Posted July 12, 2013 Yup, just barely broken in Reiny! Feel free to contact us with your questions. It won't as fast as your 1st gen or the Wing, but it sure is comfy!!!
cowpuc Posted July 12, 2013 #5 Posted July 12, 2013 CONGRATS!!!! Here is to wishing you a fantastic motorcycling experience with your new bike - may the highway treat you to all kinds of Venturing fun and may that "geeked" feeling your getting from these great ol V-4's never leave you (been ridin em since the mid 80's and I still have it too)!! Oh yea, being the typical male of the species I am stimulated by sight - CANT WAIT TO SEE THE PICS!! Puc
ReinyRooster Posted July 12, 2013 Author #7 Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks lads...looking forward to many miles and smiles.....have confirmed the colour is Black Cherry.
gez Posted July 12, 2013 #8 Posted July 12, 2013 I can surely relate, I am a new Venture owner also. Enjoy the ride, be safe and well.
Yammer Dan Posted July 12, 2013 #9 Posted July 12, 2013 Congrats!!! Glad you got what you wanted!! I guess "almost" everybody gets old and slows down sooner or later... Just teasing you know that. I think they are a great looking bike. And the Newer more dependable thing kicks in there somewhere. We will wait for you at the Dairy Queen...
XV1100SE Posted July 12, 2013 #11 Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks lads...looking forward to many miles and smiles.....have confirmed the colour is Black Cherry. What dealer had the bike? Was it Performance Cycle? They are good to deal with. Do you have the bike now or when do you get it?
BuddyRich Posted July 12, 2013 #12 Posted July 12, 2013 We will wait for you at the Dairy Queen...:rotf: You know. A guy on a first gen tried to outrun me the other day. No, I could not pass him , he wasn't able to put anymore that a foot, maybe two, between us all the way up to about a 100 when we both shut them down due to common sense kicking in.When I put the FJR rear end into it I bet he won't even be able to put the foot or two in there either.
ReinyRooster Posted July 12, 2013 Author #13 Posted July 12, 2013 Yes, it was at Performance Cycle......will post pics next week....wait a minute......did someone mention ice cream.......
