Chicago Posted July 11, 2013 #1 Posted July 11, 2013 How long should I wait to ride after cataract surgery? I'm getting my right eye done 7/23 and if it heals OK, the left one on 8/6. Is my (Michigan) riding season over?
bongobobny Posted July 11, 2013 #2 Posted July 11, 2013 Not necessarily but follow the instructions of your eye doctor. Avoid riding for a week or two. The real answer is when you are able to tolerate the bright outside. You are going to be amazed at the difference, colors are brighter! You will think the 60's are back! When your first eye is done you will probably be comparing your vision from one to the other by alternately closing each eye...
flyM92 Posted July 11, 2013 #3 Posted July 11, 2013 Just recently had mine done, My Doc said a couple days as long it was not a Harley...
friesman Posted July 11, 2013 #4 Posted July 11, 2013 I had both eyes done a few years ago, and I am pretty sure the doc said at least 3 weeks, as he was worried if the bike leaned a bit I might have to exert to straighten it up. Youre not supposed to lift anything over 2o lb (I think) for 3 weeks and your bike weighs a bit more than that, even if it is just leaning. (Plus you have to exert a bit to get it off the side stand.) Ask the doc.... listen.... Brian
