Good Morning all,

My house is just one mile on the odometer from work. This morning it took me 45 minutes to get here. I swear that my front wheel has a mind of it's own. The darn thing led me half way around the county today. Do I need to change things around so I can leave earlier to get all the way around the county or is half way enough?

Stay safe,

My old job was 3 miles from my house and had to be there at 5:30 AM. If I left the house at 3:00 AM I could get there on time.

Getting home was a problem. Upgraded my lighting so I didn't mind getting home after dark.

RandyA I am envious of you. I can not wait to retire and be able to just go if the mood strikes me. Although, it seems that I am always in a Glen Mille frame of mind, "In the Mood" but unable to act on it. Someday................

What is this "WORK" you speak of???:confused24:

I'm retired.

I just take off in any direction that strikes me at the moment I finally decide to get up and get going. :backinmyday:

That is just hurtful

I'm retired, my job is to get up and turn on the coffee pot.

Distance: 32 feet

Time to get to the Keurig: 9.5 minutes (gotta go pee, brush my teeth, scratch, admire my buckle shiner in the mirror, pee some more and walk back to the kitchen)

I have a problem, just the opposite.

I live 30 miles from work and it take me 35 minutes ti=o be there by 7am.

But after work at 630pm it will sometimes take a couple of hours. Work traffic has died out so I'll ride 100+ miles to get home in the evening. I'll ride to Santa Fe and take north hwy 14 to Tijeras or I'll ride south to Belen and take hwy 60 east to S hwy 14 to Tijeras where I live. Either way its through the mountains with nice scenery and very relaxing. I feel your pain not being able just take a short ride.

Retired, get up take Killer (the dog not the wife) out for morning constitution, go to kitchen start up Kuerig for my coffee, turn on kettle for the Bosses tea,:buttkick: take coffee to living room and catch morning news, then go to my garage and start working on the VR. Total time two hours to get to work total distance traveled 100 ft. Its a tough life but someone's got to do it!:stickpoke:

I don't get to ride to work, ever. I'[m just not leaving the VR in the parking lot at work for 2 nights and 3 days whilst I'm gone. Not a nice neighborhood. The wind whistles around the door of my car. Thanks to a break and enter. Window frame is sprung a bit. I now leave it empty and unlocked.

I usually take 45 minutes to 1 hour getting to work. Getting home is longer, 1 hour + due to traffic. Construction on the highway really slows the commute. With only 1 highway, or road for that mater, to get up island I'm going home at walking speed some days. Last Friday left work at 4 pm, stopped for dinner in Victoria, and still fought traffic to get home by 10 pm.

64 kilometres (39 miles) about 45 minuets one way from my driveway to my parking stall. Pretty much all through the country side on the back roads. Never really have to go through the city..... just fine by me.

40 miles each way, in rush hour traffic, can take anywhere from 40 mins to 2 hours. I usually don't get to venture off on an adventure too often, during the week. Kids to get home for and other responsibilities always get in the way. Ocassionally, my son and I take off for a couple hours during the week or weekend. Looking forward to retirement, however, that is a long ways away and I really don't want to wish my life away. Just trying to enjoy each and every day.

Its an amazing thing,...on days that I have to take the Escape its about 20 minutes in to work, on the nice bike days it seems to take over an hour.

The bike just HAS to go through Wascana Park, past the water front, check out the girls jogging through there, and then around downtown, admiring itself in all the store windowfronts, and finally over to work or it pouts in the parking stall all day while I am in working.
