Im trying to deside which clutch upgrade to go with.the barnett, or the spring and plates skydoc offers.any feedback is appreciated

Me personally, i'd go with the Barnett set-up. Put one in my 99 8 years with no issues.

I went with Sky-Doc's modification easy to do, If you have any questions call or e-mail him and he will get back to you, and walk you thru the install. I had a question and called him, he got back to me within in a few minutes.

 

Both mods have good replys from members, good luck!!

How stiff a clutch you want?

 

Barnett style are good, the 83-85 Ventures had them, then went to diaphragm spring setup. With a barnett style, there are limited options for increasing pressure though.

 

You have a number of options depending on how hard you ride it, trailer, etc.

 

A new stock spring would be good, the PCW would be better.

 

Or you can put 2 springs in it with a little reconfiguring it, and then it will not slip. Lever pull is high though.

For the RSV it's a coin toss, both will work quite well...

I have the diaphragm spring and it has worked wonders for five years. No slipping and good acceleration. This is the same that skydock provides. You can go with the Barnett but....
