What I am in awe of is his filing system to locate them so quickly.....
sandman Posted July 3, 2013 Author #3 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Got linkage figured out but still need info on forum search. thanks Condor, is that your ride? it sure is clean. Ya Dingy is the one that I had in mind when I posted the question. Going along with his cartoon theme a good nick name would be QuicksDraw MaGraw. lol Thanks again Edited July 3, 2013 by sandman
dingy Posted July 3, 2013 #4 Posted July 3, 2013 Having a lot of pictures and decreasing cranial storage, it's sometimes tough to remember where I put those pictures someone is asking about. Right now I have 32.1 gig of Venture/VMax stuff, 46,531 files in 2,166 folders. I don't rename 98% of pictures to a meaniful name, try to put them in folder names that are searchable, but that plan doesn't always work. Digital cameras are a blessing in disguise !! Gary
Snaggletooth Posted July 3, 2013 #5 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Got linkage figured out but still need info on forum search Best thing you can do is when you see a thread with useful info you might want to refer to at a later date is use the TAG function. Bottom right corner of the thread screen you will see "edit tags". Open that and enter your own search word (or two), refering to the item or issue and save it. Later on you can go to the "Search" drop down menu at the top and chose "tag search". Enter the word or words you used on the tag and it will list all posts with those words used in the tag. There may be a lot of posts with that tag but it will get you back to where you wanted to go. The "search" function can be a lil tricky until you find the right "buzz words" to find what you are looking for. Edited July 3, 2013 by Snaggletooth
Condor Posted July 3, 2013 #6 Posted July 3, 2013 thanks Condor, is that your ride? it sure is clean. That's just one that I thought was a great example of a '92VR so I saved the pics. I agree it is a clean one.... I've owned some pretty nice ones in the past, and I still have a few VR's in Waiting.... Your original post did get me to thinking. I had a lot of trouble finding a pic to post. So I've been going back and relabeling all those files that don't have what they cover in the file name.... i.e. BackRest is now 1stGenBackRest, and sorts along with all the rest of the 1stGen stuff. Now I at least have a place to start looking....

I think my brain holds the .1 amount of Venture junk. I am a fair wrench but without the memory of some on here I'd be lost. No wait I'm already lost....I'd be .....doing 125 mph in 3rd gear........:rasberry:
sandman Posted July 3, 2013 Author #8 Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks Guys; I think I will start a system like mentioned since I think the vr will be my easy chair of the future(plan on being here for awhile) GOD willing.
