Gary N. Posted June 30, 2013 #1 Posted June 30, 2013 Can anyone help me verify a Yamaha part number. I need to replace the patch cord that goes from the amplifier under the front cowling to the back of the bike. Looks like I have a bad spot at the head stock. The number I'm coming up with is 4xy-88192-01-00, "cord extension". The micro phish I found was kind of vague but I think that's the part I need. Had to replace the same part on my '03 too. I haven't got into checking it for ware but I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Passenger head set cuts in and out when ever I turn the bars.

Gary N. Posted June 30, 2013 Author #4 Posted June 30, 2013 Thanks but I'm trying to verify that it is the correct number for the cord that I need. Best price I have is Texas Yamaha Sports Center. http://www.yamahasportscenter.com/ecbasket.asp?fveh=lookup§ion=&year=&make=Yamaha&model=&category=&sid=06917688X6K29K2013J8I14I03JPMQ1754R0
Gary N. Posted June 30, 2013 Author #6 Posted June 30, 2013 I gave away a passenger cord a week ago. I need the audio extension cord that runs from the amplifier, under the gas tank to the back fender. I'm just trying to verify that I have the right part number before I order it. The exploded view I found wasn't quite clear but I assume the one they call "cord extension" is the one I need. Here's a link to the picture I was looking at. Check #50 at the bottom. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/500459e7f8700209bc793bda/audio-equipment-1
Gary N. Posted July 1, 2013 Author #7 Posted July 1, 2013 Well, I got to take a chance on it. Ordered. I had the same issue on my last RSV. Want to have the part in my hand before I tear the bike apart. Hope it's the right one. I've had this issue on two bikes now starting at about 50,000 miles. It comes and goes but eventually gets so bad it quits working all together.
