Got wife new cell phone, has internet but also Wi-Fi, is there any benefit connecting to Wi-Fi instead of Verizon internet. you guys know more then I on this , I'm sure.

Yep, an easy reminder, every minute connected to the Verizon (or any) carrier is stripping minutes off your airtime, phone, internet, GPS, etc. Even many fast food spots can get you a free WiFi link.

Just keep in mind that many of those free WIFI spots are not secure! You want to avoid using apps that require important passwords such as bank accounts, charge cards, etc. And avoid sending personal info (address, telephone number, etc.) and you should be OK. Just assume that strangers are "listening in" (Even if it's not a voice call).

I thought that was the idea on using the Wi-Fi, not Verizon to save on the amount that they allow. wife never uses the minimum but will start if she goes over her limit.

You know what a cell phone is. I remember it from maintenance day. It kept ringing and somebody had to show you how to answer it. :rotfl:

I thought it was just in my head...but that was the other voices.:whistling:

Jonsey, if you don't have it now you might want to consider getting the share plan. Unlimited minutes, unlimited text and 2 gigs of data. If she has a smart phone, the 2 gigs of data is probaly already attached, it might be mandatory for the smart phones.

I use the email feature daily, send and receive pics and have an Ipad linked to the same system and I have yet to use 1 gig of data in a month.

What I do not do is watch football, movies and other activities that require data downloads. Occasionally I do download a utube video but usually reserve that activity for the computer.
