I see adds all the time on Craigslist and other places where someone obviously spent a lot of time restoring, rebuilding, customizing or what ever, has little or no time or miles on it and wants to sell it for what ever reason.

SO what's up with that?

It just seems to me that if you do this and get it just the way you want it why would you sell it? DUH? :confused07:

Yes I know us weak minds don't understand but it makes no sense to me. :yikes:

For some, it's the journey...not the destination.

The attraction is the working on it and restoring it.

Once it's done....then on to the next project.

Bob got it right, thats what I was doing when I got back into riding, I was buying older bikes in ;non running condition and fixing them up and making them presentable and selling them on Ebay, did that till I ended up with my original 1st Gen and stopped doing it because I had reached my goal to acquire a touring motorcycle. I think I flipped about 15 bikes and parted out a few more to get there, and it was a lot of work, but a ton of fun to turn a piece of junk into a rideable and presentable bike. I am seriously thinking about doing it again after I retire, it really takes a lot of time and energy and I will have plenty of the first later next year.

Bubber, the V Star started out to be a replacement bike to ride while I rehabed my 1st Gen and I was only expecting to keep it for a year or so I didnt have any plans on adding to it or modifying it in any way because the plan was not to keep it for 6 years, so 2 years ago I started making it mine, and I only finished doing that a couple of days before Marilyn picked it up, I made the final adjustments that I had been putting off for months, and I wanted it to be right in my eyes when it left here. And now I am kinda sorry I sold it, because it looked so good in my eyes I wanted to keep it, I even told my wife I was thinking about changing my mind a few days before Maryiln got here, but I couldnt do it knowing how excited Marilyn was to get the bike, Now thats my story and I am sticking to it...............................................

Steve, I think the technical name for it is "Flipping" or do minimal work on something you bought, make it sound desirable, and make a profit...
