Squidley Posted July 14, 2013 Author #26 Posted July 14, 2013 Thanks for the detailed update, Brad. Sounds like an awesome celebration. Wish I could have been there. You were there in spirit my friend, as well as many others from our site
kbran Posted July 14, 2013 #27 Posted July 14, 2013 Made it back home, thanks to the Newby's for your hospitality this weekend. The service was great and Brad did a great job on the eulogy. We will surely miss Don, but we will see him again one day. Good to see all our friends this weekend. Thanks all:thumbsup2:

Barrycuda Posted July 15, 2013 #29 Posted July 15, 2013 Squidley, Thank you for posting your thoughts. I read with a slight sadness because its never easy losing someone close, as I did myself not too long ago. Your post made me feel as if I was there also. I never met the man, but he certainly had a long, and lasting touch on those around him. The best part of a sad situation, is that he left memories, that will last, and no one can never take them away. They are forged from friendship and elevated by love. I will be very proud having a Gunboat patch. Barry
Brenda H Posted July 15, 2013 #30 Posted July 15, 2013 RATS! I had to miss this! Something came up at the last minute and I had to cancel. Got "grounded" to homebase waiting on someone to show up who in the end didn't make it!! [long story] Hope everyone had a good time remembering Don. It sounds like I'll be kicking myself for awhile for not being there. It would have been nice to see everyone as it sounds like quite a turnout. Hopefully I will be able to turn out for the memorial ride. I'd better be as it is on my home turf! Got a few ideas for local munchies either before or after the trip to BlueBell.
wes0778 Posted July 16, 2013 #31 Posted July 16, 2013 I made it home, wet, but safe, this afternoon. THANKS to Doodle and Janet for their hospitality! Was good to have breakfast Saturday morning with Ponch and Cathy! As others have said, I'll sure miss Don, aka Thor!
sarges46 Posted July 16, 2013 #32 Posted July 16, 2013 How are Cathy and Sarah doing? We do wish we could have made the long trip but we will see some of you soon enough. Brad and Lonna...how are you holding up. Biker hugs for you that were so close to him.
