Big Lou Posted June 28, 2013 #1 Posted June 28, 2013 ok i took the CB AND CLASS , controller out ,, class still works , it is a treasured piece so dont leave it out no more here is the framing and the inside of the box. .. framing is done with cedar so in a crash it will still break and not destroy the plastic ,, inside is done with vynl same color as bike .. i got the top cut , will post pics of it tommorrow,, way this is built it will raise the side back up and give suypport also took me a whole 5 minutes to figure out how to make it load bearing.. had a headache ever since ,,, thinking is for smart people and way over rated
Big Lou Posted June 28, 2013 Author #2 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) I test fitted it 3 times , it does hold up the fairing to within 1/16 in. from the floor I wanted to match the plastic on the other side ,, it aint smooth or new the half moon at the top, for overflow ,i can see it and handle it with gloves so i took some undercoating and lightly run over it ,that gave the ripple ,then run over it with grill paint ... it dont dry completly black so will give the aged look..yet be new I wanted to do something like a roll top..so it would slide into itself ,came to the conclusion that may be a bad idea if i locked up brakes everything would slide forward and stop the slide of the top.. water is another factor .. so I will take a piece of inner tube and cover it ,then put a hole in the inner tube so it will stretch over a pin , maybe some vinyl..aint quit sure yet ,, need to access it with gloves if i am wearing them,,started raining an had to quit for the day.. :bighug:precious is coming right along:bighug: I think i will do this sitting on it cause i want to be able to get in and out of it riding down the road all of my inner plastic is busted that is why i neede it to be load bearing ,, outside is still blue so it is usable Edited June 29, 2013 by Big Lou
Big Lou Posted June 29, 2013 Author #4 Posted June 29, 2013 i took some clear and shot over it to shiny it just enough to match cleaned plastic I can access it going down the road with gloves , if it dont hold out the water i need then i will put a small bead of silicon around the hole to channel water ;; for real,, it does look plastic, it is light and will break on an impact instead of tearing up more plastic and weather wont hurt it,, my wires for my air ride are down inside it ,so i can hook it up and then put it away IF I DIDNT TELL YOU THE DOOR WAS AN OLD INNER TUBE AND THE WOOD WAS SCRAP WOULD YOU KNOW??????
Big Lou Posted June 29, 2013 Author #5 Posted June 29, 2013 I wanted to use leather or vinyl couldnt get it to cooperate with gloves and one hand
