JeremyC Posted June 23, 2013 #1 Posted June 23, 2013 Has anyone ever used this TCI box? How is it, and how is the place selling it? http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/1983-Yamaha-XVZ12-Venture-1200-CDI-Ignitor
dingy Posted June 23, 2013 #3 Posted June 23, 2013 I am thinking it is an Ignitech unit. Due to adapter cable comment. Gary
Prairiehammer Posted June 23, 2013 #4 Posted June 23, 2013 I am thinking it is an Ignitech unit. Yeah, it even shows an Ignitech number: [v88TCIP4full]
dingy Posted June 23, 2013 #5 Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah, it even shows an Ignitech number: [v88TCIP4full] Missed that. I have the same TCI avaliable now also. You will also get a new MAP sensor and other install related items from me. I have optional PC to TCI interface cables if you want to custom program TCI. Otherwise it will be ready to go if you get one from me. $262, includes insured shipping in USA. Gary
JeremyC Posted June 23, 2013 Author #6 Posted June 23, 2013 Gary, I don't really know much about ignition mapping, so is it good to go with the way it comes programmed out of the box? And does it come with instructions on how to do the install of the map sensor? My bike is completely stock and has 60k miles on it. And finally, where do I go to order it! It makes me sad that the old girl crapped out on me! Thanks! Jeremy

Gary And with Gary, we also get a world of knowledge and help to go along with his unit. RandyA
dingy Posted June 23, 2013 #8 Posted June 23, 2013 It will be set up when you get it. With the 83, there will be a small rubber cap to plug off vacuum line to carbs for stock TCI. Instructions are included. And I will help on the phone or email if you need help. PDF of instructions attached below. Also attached is Ignitech manual. Techy stuff, you don't need any of Ignitech manual stuff to put it in bike. It is as close to Plug & Play as I can get it. Gary
Yammer Dan Posted June 23, 2013 #9 Posted June 23, 2013 One of these days I'm going to hook one of then up just to see!! I bought them for insurance then I sit and think. Could I be looseing a couple of horses with the old ones?? New ones are better?? If I was having problems with mine I would sure see Gary. His set-up would be hard to beat and he always has a answer for you!!! I even remember once when he was RIGHT!!! All joking aside Gary's setup would be very hard to beat. I haven't run one yet. Lucky I haven't had to. I replaced the TCI on "Brown Sugar" the 1st week I had her. Is she running right? If not there are a few that hope she never does!!! Phone??
JeremyC Posted June 23, 2013 Author #10 Posted June 23, 2013 Awesome. Sounds like a good deal to me! I almost pooped in my pants when the yammer dealer told me $1126 to fix my 30 year old bike!
