So I got my baggershield on today. I found it fit very snug, and the brake side button head bold was not allowing the shield to push all the way down so one side was higher than the other. I removed the button head bolt and now I found that the nut and plat that the bolt goes into has dropped down and I can't seem to bring it up again without splitting the front fairing (which I am a little hesitant to do since this is the first time I've taken anything off the bike. I was able to put the windscreen on using the remaining five button head bolts and it is level and holds very securely. Any suggestion on how to fix the problem I have with the outside bolt?

Secondly, the chrome piece that fits at the base of the shield seem not to be a snug. Is this normal when installing an aftermarket windscreen.

I have the same problem with the chrome trim. it will not snap in, it is secured only by the two outside screws. I haven't had time to look at it yet. Does anyone have a answer to this problem?

I don't think my shield was ever taken off before I got it. Only had 5000 miles on it and my chrome strip on the front base of the windshield has always been loose.

Fyi I get 2 to 4 mpg better mileage with the low baggershield compared to the stock shield. So it will pay for itself in 15,000 California gas price miles.

Finally I can tell the wife "but honey we are making money every time I go for a ride "

The Bagger shield is a little thicker than stock(OEM windshield).

The two outer screws (on the inside of the mirrors) are what hold the chrome trim piece in place.

After thoroughly tightening the outer(under chrome piece) windshield screws. Insert chrome piece and start the two inner top most screws, located between your mirrors on the inside.

Then start other screws on inside of faring.

AFTER all screws are started...

TIGHTEN them all up...EDIT * Don't go overboard this is plastic...ENDEDIT *

DO NOT USE LOCTITE...the faring is ABS

Thanks for the help.

XV1100SE I will hit you up for some help in the future. As it stand the windscreen in very secure, even without the one bolt. As far as the chrome accent piece, I am just very picky about how things look and I am probably too concerned.

I will look at that bar too to see if it is broken. I just have 2000 k on the bike, so I would hope nothing is broken yet..

I've had the BaggerShield installed for about a year now and had no problems with installation at all. Is the chrome trim sitting flush like it did before?

No it is not. Sits flush on the corner and center and a little high between them.

I bought a baggerhield this year and installed it. The chome / plastic trim was loose on the fairing from new. Mine is the same as it was with the stock windshield.

Im not sure where you are in Ontario, but I'm in Toronto and leaving this weekend for a two week Northern Ontrio ride if you wish to see how mine looks.

I appreciate that. I'm going to hook up with XV1100SE from the Kitchener area next week and he is going to educate me on a few thing. I live in the London area, so that would be a little out of your way for a norther trip.

I really appreciate the offer. We might meet sometime in the futrue.
