on my 1992 Venture Royale. Its the decorative piece that sits at the front end of the

front fender. It fell off somewhere between Chambersburg Pa. and Charlotte North

Carolina. I didn't notice it until covering the bike for the night in Charlotte.

If anyone has one or knows someone who does, please let me know.

I've already checked with the usual suspects.

Great weekend.

Yamaha calls that chrome thing a mascot. Yamaha part number: 3JJ-21577-00-00. Obsolete (not available) now but it had a list price of darn near $100.

Keep an eye on eBay for a MKII front fender. Make sure the "mascot" is still attached. Front fenders go pretty cheaply.

Here is one complete with mascot. Pinwall says it is from a 1984, but the mascot was not on the 1983-1985. Nevertheless it is what you want: http://tinyurl.com/kmxhlks

The mascot/helmet is originally attached via double faced foam tape. The adhesive dries out over the years and eventually the trim often falls off (note the many MKII front fenders on eBay that are missing the mascot).

Funny how there is another thread dealing with parts falling off of bikes...

Coincidence I guess?

I've got one with chrome rubbed off a spot. Now that I know it is stuck on with double sided foam tape, I can get it off.

That double sided tape wont stick again and even cleaning it i couldnt get it to stick , WITH NEW TAPE

i have a long driveway a mile of rocky road up a hill

if i didnt i wouldnt have mine

3 times on the driveway ,,

gorilla glue

i dont think somebody can steal it without breaking it

then just edge with a razor

Mine was getting loose on one edge, so I removed it completely with help of a putty knife and braided fishing line; scraped all the foam tape remains from the fender and mascot; cleaned any adhesive residue with WD40 and Goo Gone; cleaned off the WD40 with rubbing alcohol; reapplied the mascot with Gorilla™ TAPE.

Coming back from North Carolina today, I stopped at a do-it-yourself

car wash in Salisbury Maryland. The high speed sprayer was able to

get all the old double faced tape off and the paint underneath looks

brand new.

I actually like the way it looks better without the mascot.

It was another 'GREAT' 1700 mile 4-day ride. Even the rain couldn't

dampen my mood.

Thanks for getting back to me.

OK, so let me askt he preventitive question. I have a lot of UNOBTAINABLE chrome on my '89VR and I find a few pieces loosing up. Double stick tape or a glue for reattaching?

It must be from a different year than mine.

It's totally different from what fell off.

Really liking the 'naked' look.

Thanks again.

All the factory mascots were the same from 1986-1993, only the background color was different (either black or red, depending on the bike color). Sounds like you may not have had a factory mascot/trim?
