Talk Switch

My 1st post and I do hope you can help

 

I have a xvz1300tf without CB

 

the bike has the audio control and also intercom plugs for the headphones

 

the button on the left hand control that operates talk, operates Main Beam Flash. is this standard on a UK bike, that it doesn't come with the talk button.

 

can this button be disconnected from the lights and wired into the audio side, or do I also need a CB and new audio control.

 

please help

not entirely sure of your question.....but the intercom is voice activated.....no need for a talk button unless you have a CB.

By "voice activated" he meant "always on" (which is why you get an "Intercom Volume" control instead of a "VOX Sensitivity" one ;-) ).

 

As said, you don't need the TALK switch for the intercom, but you'll need it if you ever install the OEM CB on the bike. Yes, electrically it's the same switch (normally open, momentary), you'll just have to move the wires from the headlight circuit to the audio MCU's PTT circuit.

That is true for the Royal Star Venture. Trader I think was referring to the first gens and I believe that they were indeed VOX.

XVZ1300TF is the EU RSV (i.e. 2nd gen). 1st gens were XVZ13D (DA, DU etc.)
