I stopped by Cabela's in Columbus, OH yesterday evening and saw a couple getting on a Midnight Venture. Stopped and talked to them for a few minutes. Very nice young couple that live in the Columbus area. They haven't owned the bike long but really love it so far. She is new to riding so still getting comfortable with it. I hope they stop by and visit us here.

I've not been to that Cabela's yet, even though I pass it every day on my way to and from work.

I've been told it's not so great when compared to the store in West Virginia.

What'd you think of it....???:cool10:

Love seeing the possibility of having new family members.

About a week ago in Columbus, Ms., I saw a black Venture in a church parking lot and they were in the process of setting up for a yard sale. I stopped in and began asking who owned the Venture.

I met the man and after speaking with him a little while I mentioned this site and asked him to give us a visit. I wrote the web site down and my name, shook his hand and drove off.

Hope to see him here also :thumbsup2:

HEY....there are no warrants against me..........yet.

The Cabela's in Columbus does not compare to the one in WV nor the one in MI. It is a much smaller store. Still, it's OK I think. Worth checking out if you just happen to be there or live in the area. Certainly not worth a long drive for people elsewhere.

Just a passing thought:

If you charged $.50 more for the Items (flags, decals etc...), You could get 250-1000 or so business cards made up, and include 3 with each item purchased.

The Image on the cards could be like the domed decals...

That way members actively supporting this site, could easily promote it as well.

I don't think that link at VistaPrints is valid any longer. I was notified by another member a couple of weeks ago. I will be re-doing it and making it available again over the next few days.

I saw a 1st gen at a gas station in Brownsburg In yesterday but he didn't stop, just cruisin' the lot I guess. Then I saw an EARLY vin (last 4 #'s 2680!) that was in good shape for only $2500! A bit high but I know he could sell it for 1500....

You can get VentureRider business cards made at the site in this thread:

http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2566

Or print your own from these Word templates downloadable from this thread:

http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=248

But Easy Rider's point of including the business cards with VRStore purchases is good, too.

Prairiehammer,

Printing the business cards out on your own printer is also a good option.

Was mainly thinking about those that don't have the printers, or, card stock on hand.

The hardest thing to do is to identify your market base so as not to throw money into the wind...:mo money:

It's the perfect opportunity to hand them out, when people come to you, wanting to actively promote the club by purchasing flags, domed decals, t'shirts.

Another opportunity would be at MD's and club events like the International rallies and such...

Getting back to stirring the pot...

Dano,

Do you guys run antique plates on those early 1st Gens?...:duck:

No, we don't.

.....Are the second gens restricted to "slow lane only"???

Or do they allow them in the passing lane.....:stirthepot:

Nope... They allow them in all lanes...

Although I personally tend to stay in the middle lane as +5 mph on the posted speed limit, is more than fast enough for me...LOL
