I am involved with Ride for Sight, as my way of paying back for all the issues that have been fixed up in my own eyes. I hope we can raise enough money over the next few years that no one will lose their sight to disease. Through the people ive met while helping with RFS I got a call that a writer was doing an article on the Ride for Sight and had heard that I had temporarily lost vision over the years and she wanted to talk to me about riding and how frustrating it was not being able to ride while waiting for things to get better.

So we chatted over the phone and compared notes on vision loss, and then she also interviewed Rod Broadfoot (he bought my 85 Venture) as well to find out more about what is being done for Ride for Sight.. (Some of you will remember Rod and his wife Myrna from Cody a couple of years ago and also Pork in the Pines)

The result was a good article on Marissa's vision issues and how she has been able to get back riding again, how Ride for Sight raises money Canada wide and Rod and I got our mugs and bikes in Canadian Biker.

Ill attach the pages of the article but I'm not sure if youll be able to read them unless you click on the pic open it, then click again to open in a separate page, then, hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard and turn the wheel on your mouse to make the print bigger.

Good for you! FYI Canadian Biker was started by Len Creed (Layback) right here on Saltspring island. He lived just down the road from me. It was Motorcycle Magazine then. The name and format changed when he moved to Victoria. I wrote a few articles which appeared in the first issues which were in a newspaper format.
