cecdoo Posted June 20, 2013 #2 Posted June 20, 2013 BRP is one of my favorite rides, enjoy your trip! Craig
Yama Mama Posted June 20, 2013 #3 Posted June 20, 2013 Love the photos! Keep them coming. This is where I have wanted to ride for probably 5 years now and still have never made it there. It looks just beautiful! Have fun and enjoy every mile of your ride! Yama Mama
mm482 Posted June 20, 2013 #4 Posted June 20, 2013 I hope you can get some good seafood while you are at the coast. Earl
Kurt Behm Posted June 27, 2013 Author #5 Posted June 27, 2013 The ride down through the Blue Ridge and then across N. Carolina on Rt #24 was spectacular. I hadn't crossed the Bay Bridge in over 10 years so it was new all over again. This Venture and I did it together for the first time back in 1993 on our way to Key West, traveling on RT's #13 & 17 South. Headed to New Hampshire to see my Granddaughter next week. Everyone ride safe. Kurt
hillrider Posted June 27, 2013 #6 Posted June 27, 2013 I think if I didn't live in North Georgia, Beaufort would be my next choice. Got lost there not too long ago (on the SE side). Those are some beautiful old homes. Kinda close together with no storage for my bikes, but I'm thinking those folks don't ride much anymore anyway.
Kurt Behm Posted June 27, 2013 Author #7 Posted June 27, 2013 in Mooorehead City. So after spending the morning with him, I rode to the end of Beaufort, then back across the bridge to Moorhead, and then North toward Virginia. It was Friday when I left so there was a lot of traffic leaving the beach. Traffic going into Norfolk toward the Bay Bridge was as bad as it can be. I had the 3 Cardinal Sins of road riding all happen at once ... : Bad Weather (Heavy Thunder Storms) : Road Construction : Bumper to Bumper traffic headed to the Bridge/Tunnel. I was stopped in traffic on 64. I looked up and saw a sign advertising an 'Econolodge' at the next exit. I got onto the apron, got off the highway, and got the last room they had available. The next morning (Saturday) was spectacular and the ride up the Delmarva was really terrific ! All in all (except for the sick friend), a great trip ! The Bike ran great. Kurt
