robclark63 Posted June 17, 2013 #1 Posted June 17, 2013 Hi all. Just about done with a clutch boss change out and was wondering if it is a steel or fiber that goes up against the barnett pressure plate. I feel that it is a fiber but I want to make sure so I can ride trouble free:) Almost there and need to be. I want to go for a ride!! Thanks again for all the great advice! Rob
Marcarl Posted June 17, 2013 #2 Posted June 17, 2013 Maybe this will help you out. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/50042d52f8700209bc789f81/clutch
robclark63 Posted June 18, 2013 Author #3 Posted June 18, 2013 Looks like my manual and it looks like fiber...Just needed someone to clarify.
Marcarl Posted June 18, 2013 #4 Posted June 18, 2013 Starting from the inside of the basket, you have the plate seat, then the spring cushion and then the first fiber plate, then a steel plate, then a fiber and so on. Hope that helps better.
robclark63 Posted June 18, 2013 Author #5 Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks!...put everything back together with a new/used clutch boss from Buckeye Performance and everything works well but it just seems noisy. I thought I had movement in the basket but when everything was put back together the movement seemed to be what everyone told me it should be. It is just noisy??? All the icons sum it up...I guess I will just ride it and see what happens...
