Today was a great day for riding. M16A1MECH/ Steve was informing us all week about the STAR chapters run to Solomon's castle in Ona, Florida. My wife and I were going to meet them there since we had our own scenic route from where we live. The castle was nice and they had great food. As it turns out, my wife Kristen and I met Brake Pad and his partner Karen or the first time. They join us at the table and we all start getting to know each other. Later on the STAR guys and gals show up and i was able to see Steve and his lovely wife. Just for the record, I can never not be happy to see Steve. He is an awesome individual and is extremely low key.

After lunch we all stood around admiring each others bikes. Brake Pad has a sweet Goldwing with blue pin striping. one of the STAR members was really into my diamond cut dog bones and seemed amazed at it. ( thanks Eusa1/Mike)

Kristen and I thoroughly enjoyed spending our time meeting Mike and Steve and co. The trip was nice, but hot. However, the rain was kept at bay. Perhaps next time we can get Angry Amish and the new members from NPR, along w mike, Steve and anyone else to make another M&E some place in Florida.

Thanks everyone for a great day!!!

I would have liked to join you on the ride. It was lightly raining at my house this morning, so I saw that as a bad sign. One of these days we will have to go for a ride. It sounds like I missed out on a good time.

Brian, I have been my own road captain and have made plenty of routes. We can ride together soon. If you go on the website OPEN ROAD JOURNEY, click on Florida, and trips, look for barrycuda. I have posted some routes. I have more I haven't posted yet.

DOUGH I thought he had posted it was going to be the 16th. I had my grandaughters 2nd birthday party to attend today.

Dion, maybe it's me, but baby girls Bday trumps riding in the extreme humidity. Perhaps we can set a date to ride when your free/ off

Barry, as always good seeing you my friend, that was an interesting place.

We need to take Mike up on his challenge to organize a cental FL Meet and Eat one day.

Mike, always a pleasure when we run into one another, have been doing so for several years now.

The STAR group enjoyed meeting you both and look forward to running into one another again in sunny FL.

I am up for it as long as I am not working and we can get a few more committed riders to go. I am also up for discussing possible towns to ride into.

Steve, Barry & Kristen. Yesterday was our pleasure. My route up there was the most gorgeous roadways I'd have ever been on in Florida. We arrived home at 7:15. and no rain for us either. although, the air felt better as the sun went down. 354.6 miles for us. ( i'm thinking of it as practise for IR). Until our next gathering. Happiness & be safe.

I am envious of your riding in Florida, Barry. Hope to do that again in the future. Don and I took a 2 week trip there last summer, going all the way to the Keys. LOVED IT!!

Glad you like your dog bones and fins from Mike (EUSA1). Never fails to get compliments wherever you go.

Hope to see you soon and meet your lovely wife.

That's funny Patti bc I am envious of YOUR riding location. You can go N-S-E-W and find something new. This time of year can be unbearable but hey, we all have something somewhere we'd like to improve or change...if you head to Florida again, lets us know.

Mike I'm workin going my own sort of IB. Well wont quite qualify as an Ib because I'm going to stop and sleep and have to work inbetween a couple of the legs. but up to my buddys place in Charlotte 622mi. Next day will pick up 2 guys and we will go to Williamsport Pa. aprox 554mi. Next day up into Canada and over towards Toronto 460mi (short day huh). Then we have to work for 3 days. Leave Toronto area and head home, first night in Blufield WV 806mi then home will be 773mi. Geez I must be crazy. While not an IB I may file it with Long Distance Riders and add it to my totals.
