While on my 2 week ride, out of know-where my speedo started to squeal. I've had to lube it in the past and this has usually cured it, but this time both odometers quite working. I did lube it but it is still not functioning.

Is this repairable?

I'll let the experts chime in, but if you need any parts, I have an 84 dash off of one of my parts bikes that I can take some pieces out of if yours can be replaced. :confused24:

The drive gear for the odometer is Delrin plastic while the driven gear is made of metal. Guess which one wears out first? Anyway the only way I have found to fix this problem is to replace the whole speedometer unit. I have tried to take apart a couple of heads but the gear is not available and after taking the head apart there was no way I could see to put it back together.

How come that seems to happen a lot to many of my projects?!? (Just fill in the blanks with whatever I'm trying to fix.)

Alvald, if other offers of parts fall thru, I have a spare '83 dash, I don't know the condition of the speedo/odo, I could swap it out on my bike to test it out first. PM me if interested.
