eusa1 Posted June 12, 2013 #1 Posted June 12, 2013 The venture is DISCONTINUED! No new venture, no new color, no more cassette decks. Straight from vegas a few mins ago.
rickardracing Posted June 12, 2013 #2 Posted June 12, 2013 The venture is DISCONTINUED! No new venture, no new color, no more cassette decks. Straight from vegas a few mins ago. Pulling our legs or straight up serious?
jakester Posted June 12, 2013 #3 Posted June 12, 2013 Yamaha just ran out of casette players to build a bike around. Oh yes I did.
stickhandle2 Posted June 12, 2013 #4 Posted June 12, 2013 Easy now, they may find some old 8 Track players. Mike
Mike G in SC Posted June 12, 2013 #5 Posted June 12, 2013 The venture is DISCONTINUED! No new venture, no new color, no more cassette decks. Straight from vegas a few mins ago. Got a link on that? Thanks, Mike G
eusa1 Posted June 12, 2013 Author #6 Posted June 12, 2013 My dealer is there now at the dealer convention. No joke.
etcswjoe Posted June 12, 2013 #7 Posted June 12, 2013 Guess they finally ran out of parts made in 1999.
eusa1 Posted June 12, 2013 Author #8 Posted June 12, 2013 There will be 8 new models released over the next five years, however nothing new in the star camp for this year. On the plus side.... Your venture will hold it's value that much longer!!
Yammer Dan Posted June 12, 2013 #9 Posted June 12, 2013 Sometimes I think they need to pull their head out and look around.
Trader Posted June 12, 2013 #10 Posted June 12, 2013 Are any of the 8 models they going to release in the touring mode?
eusa1 Posted June 12, 2013 Author #11 Posted June 12, 2013 Are any of the 8 models they going to release in the touring mode? i gave it to you, the way they released it.... don't know?
bryan52577 Posted June 12, 2013 #12 Posted June 12, 2013 Well, this just means "should" I ever need to replace my RSV. I will just find a used one as it is the most comfortable bike I have ever been on. (For me anyway.) Bryan
Mike G in SC Posted June 12, 2013 #13 Posted June 12, 2013 ,,,, anything on the RSTD????? Okay, when was the last Midnight RSV,,, That's where they broke the mold. If I were looking to buy one to put in a vault,, that would be it.
Trader Posted June 12, 2013 #15 Posted June 12, 2013 i gave it to you, the way they released it.... don't know? You gotta know that's just not good enough! On the positive side....now you 2nd genners will know what it feels like to own an antique!
The Tooch Posted June 12, 2013 #16 Posted June 12, 2013 Lets see from 1st gen. 93 to 2nd gen. 99 that means 2nd gen. 2013 to 3rd gen. 2019!? I guess I can make the old 05 last till then......... Hopeful they figure it out before then they need a touring model.
Squidley Posted June 12, 2013 #17 Posted June 12, 2013 For the guys that are looking for Yamaha to make another V4 powered touring machine, I hope this happens. Yamaha has needed to pull their heads out of their rears for atleast the last 5 years with the RSV. It desperately needs upgrades like a better charging system and some upgraded amenities. Unfortunately if this happens the price tag will be north of $20K and I wont be buying one. If I stay in a Venture, it will be a used RSV as they are cheap to buy and lots of parts as they didn't change at all in 14 years I'm not sure what my next newer touring bike will be, obviously an RSV is at the top of the list, but a 1800 Goldwing is right up there too if I can make it fit Lonna and I better....we'll see what happens.
M61A1MECH Posted June 12, 2013 #18 Posted June 12, 2013 Here is the 2014 lineup posted on the Yamaha website http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modeloverview/ls/2014/model_overview.aspx no Venture this year. We all knew it was coming, I am surprised it took this long, I expected it about 3 years ago. I still have my 07, so I will just ride on.
frogmaster Posted June 12, 2013 #19 Posted June 12, 2013 Awesome my once depreciating assest has now appreciated officially to a "collectors model"
playboy Posted June 12, 2013 #20 Posted June 12, 2013 I plan on waiting till 2015 and buy a brand new 2013 model with a 5 year warranty. I almost bought a new 2011 a month ago but finally got over the itch.
CalhounWV Posted June 12, 2013 #21 Posted June 12, 2013 the V4 has been in the lineup for along time, I suspect they will be releasing a Gen3 in a couple years. (I will predict- fuel injection, on-star, headset will be wireless Bluetooth, 6 speed trans, stronger charging system with power converter and one 110 outlet, more storage in the saddlebags and trunk, CB w/GMRS channels, built in Nav system, AND... a tape deck!) ps. will run on E-85
rickardracing Posted June 13, 2013 #24 Posted June 13, 2013 Personally, I am perfectly happy with my 07. I have just about evrything on it I want except the diamond cut fins and yes B2mom, I will be getting those. I don't think I could take another 2 days of harrassment!!:bighug:I really do not have any issues with it being carbed instead of injected. I rode it up to the top of Pikes Peak...14,100 feet....no issues. ABS, really do not need it. Bikes have been without that for years. I did my own guage package. I get alot of compliments on it,especially when the trailer is hooked up. So in short, my resale will hold longer, Yammy can continue to loose market share and I will keep my purdy blue on black beast.
XV1100SE Posted June 13, 2013 #25 Posted June 13, 2013 Feb 2013 article on "Best Used Bikes"... guess what they say is one of the best used bikes? http://www.cycleworld.com/2013/02/22/yamaha-star-royal-star-venture-best-used-bikes/
