I have been thinking of buying a video from Ride Like a Pro. Which one do you recommend the most and why.

i got IV myself. I can't imagine that the actual techniques have changed much, unless they discuss anti lock brakes or linked front/rear brake systems or something like that.

 

I've done a little practicing, not as much as I need to, but a little. I got some bright colored tennis balls, cut em in half, and kept em in my side bags for a while. I can tell ya for sure, the little amount of practice I've done has made a really big difference for me.... good stuff.

 

That DVD along with David Hough's book "more proficient motorcycling" have my highest thumbs up.

Thanks for the info. I will buy the video in the very near future. As a new rider and this being my first bike I had trouble handling the bike at low speeds. I practiced last year and improved a great deal but feel I still have much room to improve.

I watched Jerry P's video but was not sure if I would need to buy the whole set or could just start with #V.

Again thanks. I have read many comments on this web site and have to agree that the information and help available here is just tremendous!

At the demo ride at the Atlanta show Jerry made an interesting comment. He said that he had twenty years riding experience when he finally took the police riding course. He said that is when he realized he had one year's riding experience repeated twenty times!

V has all the info from the previous editions plus some extra, including "yours truly" trying to ride the ride. I shouldn't have been out there, just getting over a case of pneumonia. If I'm in there, I'm the only one on a Venture. There was one very large Gold Wing with a cooler mounted on the trailer hitch. Every body else was on HDs.

You could say that you were from just about any motorcycle forum out there and they would give you a discount.

 

I'm real curious what's new between IV and V. Do they have different obstacle courses, or are they the same courses with different footage of them training different people?

 

For those who have cut tennis balls in half to use for cones, has anyone ever taken one apart only to notice that you had cut it perfectly along the seam? Wouldn't that have to be about like breaking a mirror, or stepping on a crack, or walking under a ladder or something?
