GeorgeS Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Add a can of SEA-FOAM to the Gas Tank. this will keep the carbs and fuel system clean. Its also not a bad idea, to change the oil and filter. Have clean oil in the engine during storage, but this is not critical. Be sure the Battery water is topped off, unless you hava a sealed battery. Also, I would charge the battery about once a month during storage. By starting it, and not letting it run very long, you will be useing up the battery charge.
Squidley Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I would recommend that you get a trickle charger and hook it up while in storage. Sometimes it doesn't take much to kill much of your battery life when any vehicle is sitting. WilCruise Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I like to put a fresh wax on - it fights oxidation and pitting.
Guest Swifty Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Depending on your climate, starting it in the cold, getting the engine hot then cooling it off can gather a lot of moisture on the engine components...I fog the whole area with a spray bomb of Krown Rust Control.
