Glad I found this plug wire!

For only the second time since I've owned my '90 VR I heard the fan come on. It sounded kinda loud, so I decided to investigate. I found the #4 plug wire with a big chunk missing. It must have been rubbing for a long time to chew through 50% of the wire and loom.

This was the easiest fix I have done on this bike, so far. I was kinda surprised the cylinder was not missing. Nice to have a quiet fan, too.

I bought my '91 as a fixer upper. I found one of my plug wires eaten through by mice. And the corpse of the culprit not far away under the suspension control module in the right side fairing! Musta been indigestion lol.
