Ok my 89 VR carbs, 1st was not getting any fuel to the 2 left carbs. I know this for I tested the spark plugs and the plugs spark just fine. With the engine running at about 450 rpms I removed each plug wire 1 at a time. When each of the left 2 plugs were pulled off the engine did not change rpms. When I disconnect each of the right 2 plug wires the engine died.

 

So I pumped seafoam 1st then carb cleaner 2nd and drained all 4 bowls several times.

 

Put the key on, put the kill switch to on and the fuel pumps clicking away. When it stoped I hit the started with the choke on and the engine turned over trying to start then I heard fuel running onto the flow.

 

I unhooked all 4 over flow hoses and put shop towels under each over flow outlet to catch the over flow. I turn the key on and the fuel pump clicked away crazy, then I saw fuel coming out the left two carbs from the overflow outlet.

 

So is there a reason for the left two carbs to 1st not get any fuel then 2nd both carbs directing fuel to the over flow.

Malfunctioning float valve (fuel inlet valve). First sticking closed, then sticking open. Could be float is somehow misaligned and jamming in the chamber.

How long was the bike sitting?

 

How old is the gas in the tank?

 

The only thing that would make the 2 left carbs dry would be stuck floats or needles.

 

The only thing that would make them overflow is stuck floats or needles. Now you may try tapping the carbs to free them.

I would pull the plugs on the offending cyliners and see if they are dry. My guess is that they are wet and flooded, if so, leave the plugs out and let the cylinders dry out.

 

Either the float needle seat is blocked with grit or the float has a leak and is dropped in the bowl. I would drain the left side carbs, then, with the drains open turn the ignition on to let it flush the float seat with fresh gas in hopes any grit gets washed away. Turn the ignition off, shut the drains and turn the ignition back on and recheck for overflow (dropped float)... if the ticking stops as normal, start her up and check again.
