A smile, a wave and a thumbs up to both of you, and that gorgeous old yammie too.. The bonding between a man and his wife (and their bike) grows exponentially thru experiences like you two are sharing - besides, being just plain fun!!

THANK YOU for your thoughtfulness to share it with all of us!! Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

After making our past Venture West trip and 12 days into our current Venture East, our 88VR has now taken us from Canadian coast to coast and my wife has now dipped her toes into both oceans. The pic shows her in the Atlantic Ocean along Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail, and yes, she is wearing her Frogg Togg rain suit. More pics are in our Venture East blog at:

Wow! Thanks for posting this trip Evan. Love reading it and the pictures are great. It is bringing back good memories of our trip to Newfoundland as we saw many of the same places in your blog. Hope the weather stays good for the rest of your trip and stay safe. Hope to see you when you return.

...excellent timing to get that shot at Perce Rock!

No Anne, you shouldn't be worried that he wants to charge or change the battery. What you should be worried about is if he doesn't...cuz then you'll be the one pushing the bike to get it going!

If you are crossing the river at Rimouski' date=' you will enjoy the Charlevoix region[/quote']

Thanks. Was not totally decided but now will most likely catch the 8am ferry and head to Quebec City.

Evan and Anne,

You might be better off taking the Riviere-du-Loup ferry to Saint-Simeon. You will save a lot of kilometers.

From there take Rte 138 towards La Malbaie, continue southbound on the 138 and/or Rte 362 towards Baie St-Paul (Birthplace of Cirque du Soleil) and continue onwards to Quebec City. Be sure to take in the St-Jean Baptiste festivities.

If you take the Rimouski ferry, it will take you to Forestville which is way up the coast

Well, we finally (last Wednesday) completed the final leg of our venture East after an extended stopover near Callendar on Lake Nipissing and my wife has completed her blog of the trip at http://www.ventureeast2013.blogspot.com.

Similar to our Venture West experience, we returned as even prouder Canadians after experiencing first hand the beauty and diversity and friendliness of our country. We thoroughly enjoyed our time travelling through OH, PA, NYS, VT, NH and Maine as well. For us, travelling off the main highways with the attitude of exploring and enjoying each day rather than having a daily destination leaves us with so many good memories which are a pleasure to share.
