XV1100SE Posted June 13, 2013 #26 Posted June 13, 2013 Exactly what I would love to do....but my wife won't go.... For some that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Marcarl Posted June 18, 2013 #28 Posted June 18, 2013 Keep posting, you're doing real well, and keep an eye on that oil level, it helps to keep things lubricated.
cowpuc Posted June 18, 2013 #30 Posted June 18, 2013 A smile, a wave and a thumbs up to both of you, and that gorgeous old yammie too.. The bonding between a man and his wife (and their bike) grows exponentially thru experiences like you two are sharing - besides, being just plain fun!! THANK YOU for your thoughtfulness to share it with all of us!! Enjoy the rest of your summer!! Puc and Tippy
Yamamike Posted June 18, 2013 #31 Posted June 18, 2013 Exactly what I would love to do....but my wife won't go:crying: Keep on posting....I guess some of us have to do trips like that vicariously thru others! Glad the rain stopped for you!
Evan Posted June 19, 2013 Author #32 Posted June 19, 2013 After making our past Venture West trip and 12 days into our current Venture East, our 88VR has now taken us from Canadian coast to coast and my wife has now dipped her toes into both oceans. The pic shows her in the Atlantic Ocean along Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail, and yes, she is wearing her Frogg Togg rain suit. More pics are in our Venture East blog at: http://ventureeast2013.blogspot.ca/
Wade 2000 Posted June 20, 2013 #34 Posted June 20, 2013 The Wife and I are enjoying your blog. We are planning on doing part of that loop first part of September. Looks like a great adventure!! Thanks
relic Posted June 20, 2013 #35 Posted June 20, 2013 Wow! Thanks for posting this trip Evan. Love reading it and the pictures are great. It is bringing back good memories of our trip to Newfoundland as we saw many of the same places in your blog. Hope the weather stays good for the rest of your trip and stay safe. Hope to see you when you return.
cowpuc Posted June 20, 2013 #36 Posted June 20, 2013 Soooo, you two seen any "tital bores" out there? The wife and I sat for hours once waiting to catch one - we finally did - it was pretty cool..
paysaw Posted June 20, 2013 #37 Posted June 20, 2013 You know me Evan.Every morning I read these with coffee and toast. You two have a safe trip.
Dave Posted June 20, 2013 #38 Posted June 20, 2013 thank you for the pictures and stories, I enjoy fallowing along with you on your trip. be safe and enjoy yourselves. thank you again.
Guest Swifty Posted June 23, 2013 #39 Posted June 23, 2013 ...excellent timing to get that shot at Perce Rock! No Anne, you shouldn't be worried that he wants to charge or change the battery. What you should be worried about is if he doesn't...cuz then you'll be the one pushing the bike to get it going!
AngryAmish Posted June 23, 2013 #40 Posted June 23, 2013 If you are crossing the river at Rimouski, you will enjoy the Charlevoix region
Evan Posted June 23, 2013 Author #41 Posted June 23, 2013 If you are crossing the river at Rimouski' date=' you will enjoy the Charlevoix region[/quote'] Thanks. Was not totally decided but now will most likely catch the 8am ferry and head to Quebec City.
Wizard765 Posted June 23, 2013 #42 Posted June 23, 2013 Evan and Anne: This is so much fun.. almost like being there... hmmm no guess not. WISH WE WERE THERE? Yes.. enjoy..
AngryAmish Posted June 23, 2013 #43 Posted June 23, 2013 (edited) Evan and Anne, You might be better off taking the Riviere-du-Loup ferry to Saint-Simeon. You will save a lot of kilometers. From there take Rte 138 towards La Malbaie, continue southbound on the 138 and/or Rte 362 towards Baie St-Paul (Birthplace of Cirque du Soleil) and continue onwards to Quebec City. Be sure to take in the St-Jean Baptiste festivities. If you take the Rimouski ferry, it will take you to Forestville which is way up the coast Edited June 24, 2013 by AngryAmish
XV1100SE Posted June 28, 2013 #44 Posted June 28, 2013 Great blog of your trip ! Glad you made it back safely ! Sounds like the weather cooperated for the most part !
dogman Posted June 28, 2013 #45 Posted June 28, 2013 Welcome home. Reading your blogs sure sounds like you had a great time. I hope you have a restful few days before the Canada Day long weekend. Talk to you soon.
Evan Posted July 7, 2013 Author #46 Posted July 7, 2013 Well, we finally (last Wednesday) completed the final leg of our venture East after an extended stopover near Callendar on Lake Nipissing and my wife has completed her blog of the trip at http://www.ventureeast2013.blogspot.com. Similar to our Venture West experience, we returned as even prouder Canadians after experiencing first hand the beauty and diversity and friendliness of our country. We thoroughly enjoyed our time travelling through OH, PA, NYS, VT, NH and Maine as well. For us, travelling off the main highways with the attitude of exploring and enjoying each day rather than having a daily destination leaves us with so many good memories which are a pleasure to share.
Bert2006 Posted July 7, 2013 #47 Posted July 7, 2013 Evan and Anne, Thanks for sharing your adventure. It was great to be able to follw your progress. Great pictures by the way. Anxious to go on an extended trip now.
