sarges46 Posted June 9, 2013 #51 Posted June 9, 2013 saddened, upset, po'd sitting with mouth agape....what else can one say. Most upsetting for everyone most of all your family and yourself I am sure. I have two grills right now, one on the bike and a spare hanging on the wall. Our daughter Courtney still remembers with glee the time you took her for a ride in the hack when we camped at Vogel. She thought the world of you....actually don't get your head too big....she does think the world of all the venturerider.org people we've met! But that was special for her. What does one say....damn.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted June 9, 2013 #52 Posted June 9, 2013 Steve, although we had business dealings that were in conflict years ago, today I am saddened and genuinely in your corner. I recently lost a great friend to cancer, and it's a devastating blow to all concerned. Hang in there sir, and hopefully, 10,000 prayers sent from 10,000 members here will surely carry some influence upstairs. Regards,
Freebird Posted June 9, 2013 #53 Posted June 9, 2013 Steve, This is hard to read even though I already knew a little something about it. You have been a great supporter of the organization and have offered one of the most fantastic and unique products of any for our bikes. Far beyond and more important than that though, you have been a good friend for many years. I really don't know what to say except that we will keep you in our prayers and you KNOW that if three is anything at all that we can do, just let us know. You are family. Don
Sailor Posted June 10, 2013 #54 Posted June 10, 2013 That is hard to take. I had cancer and they gave me 24 months to live, that was 6 years ago. I am convinced a positive attitude really helps. Hang in there.
EL Cid Posted June 10, 2013 #56 Posted June 10, 2013 Steve, When you came to Venture rally in Richmond Ky June of 2000. We brought three of your first grills. Still have mine today, paint afew times . Enjoy what you have my friend. Leonard Huff:fingers-crossed-emo
Richie R Posted June 10, 2013 #57 Posted June 10, 2013 So sorry to hear you and your family will be in our prayers. Richie R
mini-muffin Posted June 10, 2013 #58 Posted June 10, 2013 Not really much else to add or say. Everyone is touched by this dreadful disease at one time or another. Best thing to do is what you already said, take it one day at a time. Spend time with the family especially them grandkids. If I'm not mistaken you have a granddaughter that likes riding in your sidecar, might want to try and take a ride with her (weather permitting). Hope you can enjoy everyday ahead and maybe prove the docs wrong, after all they only practice medicine. Good luck Steve, it's a hard road you're on right now. Margaret
BG Hawks Posted June 10, 2013 #59 Posted June 10, 2013 You are in our thoughts and prayers. Keep Strong.
dueyk1111 Posted June 12, 2013 #60 Posted June 12, 2013 STEVE! hang in there and keep a positive attitude, it does help! my 2nd x-wife had bone cancer n lived for 4 more years after she was told. Will definately keep you and your family in my prayers!!!!!!
RandyR Posted June 13, 2013 #61 Posted June 13, 2013 Steve, I just saw this. I haven't been on much lately. Hope to see you at Vogel. If you need anything, I only live a few minutes away and would be glad to help with anything I could. Randy
SaltyDawg Posted June 13, 2013 #62 Posted June 13, 2013 Damn Steve, that sure is a fastball that got thrown at ya. Your attitude is good and from what I have experienced through family members with cancer Attitude is what helps the most. Stay Positive and know you are in our prayers.
SteveW Posted June 14, 2013 Author #63 Posted June 14, 2013 Had first kemo yesterday and things went well. Everyone have a fun safe weekend Thank you all for your prayers they really help. Steve
Monty Posted June 14, 2013 #64 Posted June 14, 2013 Steve, I really hate to hear you are going through this. Sadly, the big C has run rampant in my family also. I have just been lucky so far. Fight it with a vengeance. I do have some friends that were given a short timeframe like you, and have fought hard & are still going several years later. Lets hope you fall into that category. Miracles do happen.
Rookie725 Posted June 14, 2013 #65 Posted June 14, 2013 Steve - Sorry to hear the news - Stay strong - you and family are in our thoughts and prayers....Your grille on my 2007 Midnight Venture now has a greater meaning to me as I ride. Take care....

SteveW Posted September 3, 2013 Author #67 Posted September 3, 2013 Hello, I am Steve Wagner's daughter Heather. I wanted to make a point of updating everyone on Venture Riders, as all of your love and support over the last few months really touched my Dad. He showed me all of the emails sent to him from well wishers and friends and I cannot tell you how much it meant to him and our family that he had this group in his corner. Sadly, my Dad passed away yesterday. He was comfortable and both my Mom and I were by his side. He was an extraordinary man. Strong, loving, and generous. I am so happy to call him my father and am so grateful that he had such wonderful friends. Thank you all. Gloria and Heather
bongobobny Posted September 3, 2013 #68 Posted September 3, 2013 So sad to hear the news even if it was expected. The world was blessed with his presence and he will be missed!! Our sincerest condolences and prayers to the both of you.
sarges46 Posted September 3, 2013 #69 Posted September 3, 2013 Wow! I didn't think this day would come. We lost a good friend and you lost a great Dad and spouse. We wish all the best to you all. We are glad he didn't suffer long. Rest our friend. Thank you for letting us know.
Freebird Posted September 3, 2013 #70 Posted September 3, 2013 Heather, Thank you so much for your post. I know that you are going through a very difficult time and this had to be hard for you. Please know that Steve had a lot of friends here. I have met and ridden with him a couple of times and communicated with him often. He was not only a member here but a friend to many. He will not be forgotten. Don
playboy Posted September 3, 2013 #71 Posted September 3, 2013 Condolences to you and your Family Heather. I had never met your father but his grill was the first addition to my Bike and I will cherish it.
GAWildKat Posted September 3, 2013 #72 Posted September 3, 2013 My condolences on Steve's passing yesterday. I almost took the road through Cleveland yesterday on the way home. Husband and inlaws said no. Now I know why I wanted to go that way. Know that his pain has ended even if yours has not.
