Went out on our normal tues evening ride last night , all went normal , this morning I notice a droplet of oil under my bike . 2002 RSV , 43,000KM , any way I took a quick look and the only place that even looks wet are a couple of the hoses hanging there ,

Any ideas of where I should start , or is it nothing to worry about , There has never been a spot of oil before this ,

Any advise would be great ,

thanks ahead of time

Probably just some oil from the airbox, it happens if you fill the crankcase so the level is above the line or if you are running particulary hard, the air box sucks oil vapors up as part of the emmision control system Sometimes those vapors collect in the airbox and condense back into oil. There are drain tubes under the bike about mid way on the left side, that will drip a bit on occaison. If those tubes are wet, just wipe them off and then kep an eye on them. If it contiues you may want to pen the air boxes under the tank and wipe out any oil residue that has collected.

If it is not those tubes, then by all means check the rear shock, sometimes the rubber boot will hold the oil in if the shock fails, give it a pinch and unseat it to see if it full of oil. That would be bad.

Good luck.

Looked over the shock real close , it is dry , have put on 800KM since the last oil change , level seems fine , right down the middle of the glass ,, will clean the hoses off and keep an eye on them , and will keep you posted

thanks for now
