Ventureless Posted June 5, 2013 #1 Posted June 5, 2013 Last weekend Rider Duke helped me synch my carbs for the first time (very appreciative of everything he helped me do). My idle speed was really low so we adjusted it up to around the 950 mark. Bike starts and runs much better, but now sitting at idle, the idle speed sounds and feels really fast like I am holding the throttle partially open. Throttle freeplay ok and nothing binding. So I start poking around on here and find that with the Dyna 3K, many of you had to adjust the idle speed down some. Not sure what settings are picked on the Dyna as it was on there when I got it. So my question is for those of you that had to lower your idle speed, what did you lower it to? I have looked and don't see anything specific. The closest I see is lower it by a couple hundred RPMs. So does that mean am I looking around 700-800 RPM? Thanks in advance
Ventureless Posted June 6, 2013 Author #2 Posted June 6, 2013 Anyone with the Dyna 3K? I have adjusted it down some and would like to have a RPM in mind when hooking it up to the tachmeter.
Ventureless Posted June 7, 2013 Author #4 Posted June 7, 2013 PM Venturing Sole he has one Done. Thank you sir and have a safe trip.
MikeWa Posted June 7, 2013 #5 Posted June 7, 2013 Good RPM is 950 to1000 If you do not have a tachometer just adjust rpm to where it does not slam going into first gear from neutral. Mike
