Big Lou Posted June 4, 2013 #1 Posted June 4, 2013 (edited) I bought all the stuff for the carb synch, i have 32 inches above the fluid line.. for clear tubing , without the motor running.. actually each tube is 20feet long total so i start it up and 3 and 4 suck the tranny fluid up 32 inches before i can cut it off,,THAT FAST...YES,, ALMOST TO MOTOR BEFORE I SHUT IT OFF 1 AND 2 ARE SLOWER,, RUN TRANNY FLUID DOWN THE TUBE three times ,, finally unhooked 3 an 4 so i could atleast do 1 an 2 ,,, little slower yet still sucked it all the way to the top as of right now i have tubeing hanging off the gutter of the house an i cant start the bike long enough to turn any screws bofore it sucks it down please tell me what i can do ?????? sure looks like i fixed vacuum leaks REAL GOOD,,,,,,,, IT IS AN 89 1300 Edited June 4, 2013 by Big Lou
dingy Posted June 4, 2013 #2 Posted June 4, 2013 (edited) Attached is one I made several years ago. All 4 tubes are tied across bottom manifold. You want vacuum tubes on top, to try & lift the column of fluid. And if one starts pulling real hard, then adjust the corresponding sync screw. Idle setting is # 2 carb, sync others using #2 as reference. Procedure is in service manual. I attached a PDF of a few pages from 86-93 service manual. 83-85 is same. RedRider Posted June 4, 2013 #3 Posted June 4, 2013 Problem with your setup is you need a restriction in the line. Not really sure of exactly what hardware you need to do that, but someone else will jump in here. I purchased rather than made my manometer.

Big Lou Posted June 8, 2013 Author #5 Posted June 8, 2013 CARB SYNCH IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS I CAN GET, ONLY CAUSE THE army TAUGHT ME NOTHING IS PERFECT as i finished synch, the tubing on number one ,, melted and in the line is dark color then turns to a light yellow up the line ,,????????????????????????????????????????????????????? dont know why as of right now it aint spitting ,or , anything , cant ride it till later tomorrow dog died .. darn,, i took off starter to fix dragging .. the plastic ring is melted ,, brushes are fine ,, i will fix it before everybody gets up in the morning,,, will post pics as soon as i figure out how , without getting a headache got to tend to dog
