I added my questions to my updated review of the National Cycle Peacemaker slip-ons but I don't think our forum experts read it so I'm going to re-post for some helpful advise.

Question for all you experts out there.... I hear some minor popping from the exhaust after installing the Peacemakers mufflers. Mostly when the pipes are in wide open state during throttle down but a little even in quiet mode during throttle down after rev. I have always adhered to the concept that only changing pipes or only air box (not air box on an RSV of course) that you do not have to rejet the carbs. My 2008 RSV has no mods to the air box so I shouldn't have a problem with just opening the pipes some. If I take it to my mechanic will they be able to adjust the carbs to get the popping out or will they want to rejet? This shop does have a dyno so they will likely advise doing a rejet on the dyno. Opinions?

synch carbs, get rid of or plug AIS, open up pilots screws a half turn or so. No rejet needed it your carbs are in good shape.

Mine runs like a bat out of hell and still gets 42 hyway. A slight more mods than you though.

What you are hearing is called after fire. This is due to a collection of unspent fuel in the hot muffler, especially after a high throttle. Stock mufflers have devices inside to counter this. I used to get a bit of after fire even with the stock mufflers while down shifting from 70 mph or so. Mine seems to after fire more cold. After it is warmed up well it is greatly reduced.

I found the info on disabling the AIS system. That does sound like it would fix it. My carbs were recently synced prior to installing the new slip-ons. Would this need to be done again after the slip-ons?

I would reccommend you do the carb synch again.

I have a brand new Motion Pro still in the package. Guess I'll get my feet wet and try doing it myself. I've read a bunch of folks don't like the Motion Pro sync tool. I hope I don't run into all the issues others have mentioned with this tool.

Thank you guys for advising me. ACE50: Pilots screws? I have the Clymer service manual so I will look those up on the carbs. I should find them in that manual right? And... open would be which direction a turn will be in the manual also?

Doing the carb sync is very simple so it would certainly not hurt to check them but to be honest, changing the mufflers should have no affect on the carb sync.

Bottom of carbs under small tapered caps (have to knock them off to get to them if still there) Counter clockwise to open them up.

Plug AIS and sync first though to see if that fixes it.

I've gone with one size larger on pilot jets. Starts easily without choke. Off idle response is great. Mine are 2.5 turns from lightly seated.

I thought surely this topic would arouse someone's attention. I'm a little let down.:think::think:

Not sure who you were waiting for or what they might say but you got my curiosity going. Anyway, just plugged AIS and pop is gone. Carbs were just synced a couple weeks ago so I decided to just do the AIS block. Works good. I will play with the pilots a little but I'm pretty happy now.

Motion pro will work fine, just that there are much simpler, quicker ways to do it. No fluids involved........:stirthepot:

What would be a simpler, quicker way? Stopped at a shop and they want $140.00 to sync the carbs. Said it would take a couple of hours.
