Snarley Bill Posted February 15, 2008 #26 Posted February 15, 2008 Hey Bill, You should learn how to better express yourself, say what you really mean. Stop sugar-coating everything. LOL Anyway, I agree with you 100%. I respect you for having the gumption to say it. More of us should be so outspoken. Hope to meet you someday. Take care. guess thats why allanh named me snarley bill.
pegscraper Posted February 15, 2008 #27 Posted February 15, 2008 What about a situation where the motorcycle doesn't trip the stoplight? Normally we can sit there a reasonable amount of time to determine that's the case and then go through it when traffic allows. And I understand that at least in IN, the police understand the problem and won't nail you for that. But with a camera this can no longer be done. You'll sit there forever or get a ticket. No other options. What about a situation where you're following a semi truck in town, at normal distance, and you literally can't see the light until you're halfway through the intersection? If the truck pushes the light or blows it red, then you've done it too, and you have no way to know until it's over. It happens all the time in town. It's an understood thing. Stoplight cameras and anonymous tickets in the mail are bull*&^t, and if or when they start becoming prevalent in my area, I will do what it takes to fight it.

I would suggest if you are following that truck that closely that you can't see the color of the traffic light BEFORE you enter the intersection - you're following too close!!!
dynodon Posted February 16, 2008 #29 Posted February 16, 2008 Talk about wierd. I happened to turn on "Dr. Phil" today for some reason. He was all over this ultra religious guy and gal that are making babies as fast as possible, and the girls parents are all upset that the husband doesn't have a real job. He kept saying he thought his "photoblocker spray" would be a big seller, and the guy looks just like the guy in all those magazine ads. Wonder if it is the same guy? If so, I wonder how he could afford all those big ads. they are real expensive. Anyway, it looks like that product won't be around much longer. I am in favor of red-light cameras, but am not a big fan of automating speed enforcement. I try to follow the rules, but all those speed cameras I hear about just are money makers and a new tax on the people. I would rather get better enforcement on drunk drivers and road rage, and better driver education and real licensing. Get the bad drivers off the road!
MikeM8560 Posted February 16, 2008 #30 Posted February 16, 2008 Gee they need some of thoose here seems more people think yellow meen go for it when all they need to do is stop:confused24: there pretty crazy drivers around here.
midnightventure Posted February 16, 2008 #31 Posted February 16, 2008 These cameras are operated by private companies and they have been caught cutting the caution time to generate more money. Its been a while since I read about it but I think it was a suburb of St. louis.
MikeM8560 Posted February 16, 2008 #32 Posted February 16, 2008 ...just tell me, yuo guys above ALWAYS Ride within posted speed limit :rotf: 65 in a 55 is one thing but unnign reds is a different story.
CrazyHorse Posted February 16, 2008 #33 Posted February 16, 2008 :rotf::rotf: Now you know what I'm talking about. State of Chicago :rotf: Mayor Daily want Olimpic Games in State of Chicago. Money is not a subject. Those red light cameras are operated by city, and 100% is going to city budget. They dont go in your driving record. Just Picture of your car, and bill in mail. I Didnt get one jet, but there is so many cameras, question is when. Olympics will be a gigantic waste of money all the security and so forth building buildings etc. You wont see the investment back.
Guest Saddletramp Posted February 16, 2008 #34 Posted February 16, 2008 If there are some who are in the habit of running the red lights, please let the rest of us in on where you ride. That way while you're being retarded, we will survive to ride another day.

emack Posted February 16, 2008 #37 Posted February 16, 2008 Getting back around to the spray on camera blocker... Save your money,.. it doesn't work. I put on several coats and used my camera to snap a picture of the plate at different angles. Each picture I could easily read the number/letter. The flash didn't blur any part of the license plate. I DO like my radar detector though...
