Took a ride today and lost the clutch and all the fluid. Today was the hottest day so far this year, in the low 90's and half way thru the ride I had no clutch handle. Reservoir was dry and must have leaked thru the slave. The clutch has been working fine with no leaks or issues until now. Where can I buy a new assembly and get it delivered before I go to Don's MD? Otherwise I will have to cancel the MD trip.

I have a very good used unit.

It is off a 2001 RSV. It is on 1st gen block for hybrid. But far away from needing slave if it gets you moving.

I can overnight it to you tomorrow, and you will have it Monday.

Also have an extra set of new hex head cap screws. Like them better.

And I have a new in the package slave rebuild kit.

Thanks for the part number and the dealer. I will call them tomorrow morning (Saturday)and also was planning on calling Pioneer. They are an outstanding dealer and have ordered parts from them before. Always have had great service from Pioneer.

I orderd a slave rebuild unit.I will let you know how it goes..

Just

:2cents: worth here, make sure the bore is perfect. I have not personally had good luck with rebuilding slaves. That could just be me, I have done 4 and 3 haven't lasted. It has to be clean enough to eat off.

When mine blew out I was was going to get a kit and rebuild mine. Gary offered an old slave body that he had taken a ball hone to and worked the bore back to smooth. Without that hone work it would not have resealed. I installed new seals and it is holding its own yet today.

When I got my old one out it was not salvagable. Severe pitting and grooves worn into the bore too deep to remove.

So a close inspection is needed to decide on the next step before a rebuild. If and when this one fails...... a new one goes in. Too much time and trouble to do it twice. I got lucky and had some good help and advice along the way.

Just my :2cents:

I had a similar issue. But when I removed the slave I found it was dry. Turns out the line had a very slow leak at the crimp were it connects to the slave. Had a local hose shop make me up a new stainless line for $34.00. Also decided that since I had it out anyway and was the original, I might as well replace it anyway. I ordered a new one from skydoc, and his price was very reasonable.

I am pulling mine off this weekend Ben.I will give you my findings.I think this has been like this for awhile on this bike and no one took the time to fix it.

My slave unit is still working. There are no leaks.I want to rebuild it because I suspect it is not working fully.

Hard shifting?? My 86 shifts a lot harder than my 85. My 85 is just so much easier I'm thinking 86 is going out. Been that way for year now don't seem to be getting any worse but just not the same. 85 only has 24k on it. 86 has 75k almost broke in.
