Marcarl Posted May 30, 2013 #1 Posted May 30, 2013 Hope this works. H.D. was by today and left me with an almost brand new 2nd gen YSS Suspension shock bought in August 2011. Model # MZ-506-255TR. George said he only had it on his bike for about 300 miles. He also showed me a bill for $902. It looks very new but that is about all that I know about it. It looks like it has a rebound adjustment and spring preload adjustment George said he no longer needed it and so wanted to give it away, so now to who???? We talked about it and decided to auction it and give the money to our SA fund (Special Assistance) which we use to help others in need when the need arises. I will be at MD with the shock in tow, so it can be picked up there, or we can ship it as well. If I missed something George, or got something wrong, jump in here and set me straight. So here's how we'll do it. If you are interested to buy this item, send me a PM with your offer, no reserve. I will post the ongoing price in this thread and announce the winner by next Wednesday eve.
Freebird Posted May 31, 2013 #3 Posted May 31, 2013 It doesn't matter to me but wouldn't it be easier to just put it in the auctions area of the classifieds? http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=20

Marcarl Posted May 31, 2013 Author #6 Posted May 31, 2013 More info: George had owned a Venture, then decided to sell it. He had installed this shock, hoping for a better ride and he said he was quite happy with the results, he's a fairly big guy. When people were looking at the scoot to buy it, he was told the price was too high, so he took off the Corbin seat and this shock to lower the price. The scoot sold, the seat sold but this shock was still in his garage, so finally he decided that somebody might as well have some use out of it, so here it is. He admits he probably over paid for this shock, so please don't go by the $902 I mentioned before. It has no air. It has a re-bound adjustment It has spring pre-load, but no tool to adjust this. And it's a pretty color.
CaptainJoe Posted May 31, 2013 #9 Posted May 31, 2013 And this was your latest & best moderator choice ???? Tsk, tsk tsk, Gary Ummmmmmmmm...I think he did good! He sure seems to be bringing in the bucks:mo money:for a good cause...
Marcarl Posted May 31, 2013 Author #10 Posted May 31, 2013 I'm thinking that every V-Max style bike should have one,,, this looks like a real beefy thing, something that could handle the extra torque and pressure that a hi-bred bike could put to it, of course it would take a genius to figure out how to mount it,,, but that is a different story.
XV1100SE Posted May 31, 2013 #11 Posted May 31, 2013 ,,, this looks like a real beefy thing, something that could handle the extra torque and pressure that a hi-bred bike could put to it.... Hence the reason it is for a SECOND GEN !
Condor Posted May 31, 2013 #12 Posted May 31, 2013 Next bid is for $350. Oh well.... That lets me out...

Mr. Speaker, The VMax's do not have a mono shock setup like Ventures. More conventional twin shocks. The rest of your musings are spot on though. See you in a week, old man !!! Have a speech for Friday night dinner. Gary

The rest of your musings are spot on though. See you in a week, old man !!! Have a speech for Friday night dinner. Gary Thought I said real genius,, maybe you missed that part. Already been practising on the speechie thing, they were just about ready to boo me off the stage @ MarCarl's. Somehow I managed to escape unscathed.
Marcarl Posted June 1, 2013 Author #15 Posted June 1, 2013 Update: It's Ok to out bid somebody else, that's the idea. You don't need to wait until the last minute,,, it might not happen. Small bits are quite acceptable, even $1 US bids. or 50cent CDN bids.
Marcarl Posted June 4, 2013 Author #16 Posted June 4, 2013 So you've been watching and wanting,,, don't be shy, bid another $5 to get in on the action. Auction closes Wednesday, that's tomorrow evening,, at that point I'll have to decide how to close it,,, hadn't thought of that real good, but I'm sure it will work out somehow. Just had to get this back to the top again,, and had to say something.
