(as I sit here looking out the window at a torrential downpour... ) Ya cant let a bit of rain keep ya inside. Ya should move to mostly sunny Sask, Since I bought my bike on May 1 Ive got 3300 kms on her. We may have a bit more snow in winter than you, but when its gone its riding time...... Brian

(as I sit here looking out the window at a torrential downpour... )Watch that "We" business Rick. I ride every day that is not icy and there was no ice around here this past winter. I suspect bikes cost more because waterproofing is expensive. (That's not me being depressed, just my personal rain cloud. ) If you save up for a ferry trip you too could ride more often.

I don't think Victoria saw any freezing this winter. I am good with the rain thanks.
XV1100SE Posted May 30, 2013 #6 Posted May 30, 2013 Bikes might be higher priced (lately only on used bikes lately) and insurance and gas costs us more than our neighbours to the South.... but that just makes every kilometer worth that much more !
camos Posted May 30, 2013 #7 Posted May 30, 2013 Yah, funny thing today you can buy a car that costs less than a bike and that gets better mileage.
SilvrT Posted May 30, 2013 Author #8 Posted May 30, 2013 Yah, funny thing today you can buy a car that costs less than a bike and that gets better mileage. Not so long ago a guy could pick up an older car for a song and a dance ... today it seems all the older cars have become popular and the prices have shot way up. Back around 1978 I bought this 1970 Plymouth Fury III Sport 2dr H/T with the hideaway headlights and a 383 magnum 4bbl. Power everything on that car and it was in mint shape... got it for $1600 ... that car today would be worth several thousands. Heck, even dumpy old plain jane 4 door boxes are going for more than they originally sold new. hmmmmm... am I hijacking my own thread here? LOL
SilvrT Posted May 30, 2013 Author #9 Posted May 30, 2013 I ride every day that is not icy and there was no ice around here this past winter. Some folks are exceptions to the "norm"
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted May 30, 2013 #10 Posted May 30, 2013 It is bike to work week this week but they tell me motorcycles don't count! I am back on the no gas needed bike. I think the Ventures get worse milage than my car anyway, but way more fun!
