Santa Hal Posted May 30, 2013 #1 Posted May 30, 2013 When riding my 09 RSV in second gear and barely giving her the gas, it feels like something rubbing sort of like when you were riding your 10 speed with hand brakes and the brake pad would rub on the bent wheel and make it feel kind of like its surging. You let off the gas and it goes away. On the gas more than easy you don't feel it either. I know this sounds strange but has anyone felt anything close to what I am trying to describe? Hal
playboy Posted May 30, 2013 #2 Posted May 30, 2013 Have you checked for a warped rotor ? You should be able to turn the wheels while it is on the jack and feel it.
Santa Hal Posted May 30, 2013 Author #3 Posted May 30, 2013 No I haven't but this doesn't do it when you are on the gas hard or coasting. It only happens when you barley moving in second gear.
Monty Posted May 30, 2013 #4 Posted May 30, 2013 Sounds like maybe a bent wheel, or a broken belt in a tire. Those show up really bad at low speeds.
Santa Hal Posted May 30, 2013 Author #5 Posted May 30, 2013 I don't think it is a bent rotor cause you don't feel it when you push on the brakes. You only feel it when you are easing on the gas in second gear you can go back and forth with the throttle and feel it.
MikeWa Posted May 30, 2013 #6 Posted May 30, 2013 If something were rubbing you would be able to feel it in neutral or when coasting. It sounds to me like the bike is leaning out under very slight throttle or perhaps lugging slightly. Any chance for one of these being the culprit? Mike
