bj66 Posted May 30, 2013 #1 Posted May 30, 2013 I have a 1980ish Honda Pasport 70 Deluxe scooter. I just got it running after several years of sitting. It is in good shape, not great. It is complete minus the mirrors. It even has the wire basket on the front. The seat has been recovered but not professionally. It wouldnt take much to make it really nice. I have made mention of this scooter a few times while geting a new sparkplug etc. The first thing I hear people say is "Want to sell it?" And by the tone of their voice, they are dead serious and would pay darn good money for it sight unseen. So my question is a 2 part question 1. What is something like this worth? 2. Are they that rare/collectible? I have no plans to sell it, but thought it was kind of cool because of the reaction I get from people when they hear that I have it.
uncledj Posted May 30, 2013 #2 Posted May 30, 2013 Hey....ya wanna sell it??? LOL I was looking around a bit, thinking about buying one for the motorhome, and found that there was a fairly wide array of prices. Generally, I found that the larger the motor, the higher the price. Honda's seem to hold value a little better than most, but if you passport runs and is in fair shape, I'd guess it to be worth between $500 and $1000. Check out Craigslist and e-bay to get an idea of value. Rock on.

Guest tx2sturgis Posted May 30, 2013 #4 Posted May 30, 2013 Take that on a trailer over to Main street in Sturgis during the rally, and put a for sale sign on it...see what kinda offers you get!
luke000 Posted May 30, 2013 #5 Posted May 30, 2013 Take that on a trailer over to Main street in Sturgis during the rally, and put a for sale sign on it...see what kinda offers you get! You will get even better offers if you haul that down to wherever the local hipsters ride their fixies, wear the skinny jeans, and drink their fair trade coffee. They have driven up the value of anything that is old and 2 wheeled 2-4X. ESPECIALLY SCOOTERS and half baked "cafe" "builds" HIPSTER BIKES

I am planning on taking it out there. I bought the toy hauler so my wife would come out and stay. The scooter would be handy to run up to the showers, and get ice etc. It would be fun at the campground.
cowpuc Posted May 31, 2013 #10 Posted May 31, 2013 They pop up on ebay every once in a while, because its an auction it will tend to give you a pretty good idea of true value... Another good one is that big auction they have every year in Vegas, cant remember the name of the outfit but I know they publish results every year - their result book is also a great reference tool for antique bike values.. Those little passports are plain ol cool,, be really fun with a sidecar, tye dye shirt, sandels and a pair of those bell bottom BIG flower covered pants we used to wear hahahahaha...
