shmily Posted May 29, 2013 #1 Posted May 29, 2013 Did a 1,000 mile ride over Memorial Day weekend to Rolling Thunder with some military buddies. We rode through West Virginia mountains, back country roads, and a thunder run back to Columbus, Ohio on Monday. We had one hell of a collection of bikes to include Harleys (Willie G's all to way to Electroglides), a Concourse, a Road Star, a Victory Vegas, and a Valkyre. At every fuel stop, the other riders dismounted and commenced to griping about stiff parts and sore butts. Not me! The 2007 Venture handled all the riding conditions with class. Once I decided not to try to hang with the Concourse on the tight mountain turns in WV, my ride was perfect. Moreover, I felt that I could have ridden all day. A short rain shower - no issue. Others were soaked, my bike kept me dry in spite of not stopping to put on the rain gear. Accelerating up steep climbs - no issue! 80 mph on Route 70 - too easy! I love this bike!!!
Blinker Posted May 29, 2013 #3 Posted May 29, 2013 Yep, kinda makes ya feel sorry for those who are sore after the first or second fuel stop!!! Ha.
Dano Posted May 29, 2013 #5 Posted May 29, 2013 Hey Shmiliy, you know any Obert's over there in Columbus??? They're probably related to me ('specially south-siders...)
shmily Posted May 29, 2013 Author #6 Posted May 29, 2013 Hey Shmiliy, you know any Obert's over there in Columbus??? They're probably related to me ('specially south-siders...) Unfortunately, I don't. If they're bikers, however, I'll be happy to look them up!
RSV4Cruzn Posted May 29, 2013 #7 Posted May 29, 2013 Just getting back from a 2243 mile ride from Birmingham Al to Abilene Tx. No sore butt here! I have been riding Ventures since 2000. On my second one now. Love Ventureland!
rmac345 Posted May 30, 2013 #8 Posted May 30, 2013 Amen brothers....just bought my second 2nd gen and would have no other. Test drove the rest, ride the best!!!
sanderjack Posted May 30, 2013 #9 Posted May 30, 2013 We also put 1,000 miles on the Venture traveling from Columbia to Washington and back. We did all interstate and cruised right on down the road. I am so glad I bought mine. I can't wait to go on another long trip!
