My next question. How much light output would you get?? I just thought they looked good. Doing the Wally world things now.
Flyinfool Posted May 29, 2013 #2 Posted May 29, 2013 Good thing you did not lump me in with the "light experts"........ Ya they could be made to work. Specification: Condition: Brand new in box Quantity: 1 pair Lights: Regular 5 Watt Peanut Bulbs Material: High Quality ABS Plastic With Chrome Finish Instructions: not included Mounting Hardware: not included A 5 Watt peanut bulb is very little light, that would make these for show, not for useful light. BUT if they meant to say a 50 watt bulb, that would be different. These are the ones I am looking at to mount near the front axle. http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/mini-auxiliary-lights/2-square-10-watt-led-mini-auxiliary-work-light--square/1362/
Yamamike Posted May 29, 2013 #3 Posted May 29, 2013 Hey Jeff...if those puppies draw 10W, they must be superbright (no pun intended)!! If you get them, let us know how they work out. Would you be looking at the 20deg beam configuration?
Yammer Dan Posted May 29, 2013 Author #4 Posted May 29, 2013 That was my thoughts. Too little light output but they sure look good. Isn't this bulb the one they make in several sizes? What happens if you put a 35w in? Burns up socket??

They were on the bike when I bought it so left them on since they lighted up good. They're not a long range penetrating driving type but more of a wider spreading beam. I like them cause they light up both sides of the road well. Also I would say the lights reach is about the same as a normal low beam. Larry
Peder_y2k Posted May 29, 2013 #6 Posted May 29, 2013 Just keep in mind those LED lights are not DOT approved as frontal road lights and can get you a ticket. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88

What happens if you put a 35w in? Burns up socket?? I am not sure that a "peanut bulb" and a H3 are the same thing, I think you are thinking of the 35W H3 style bulb that is used in most lighting. I have never heard of the H3 referred to as a "peanut bulb". The "peanut bulb" is normally used to refer to the 194 type bulb like what is in the instrument panel lighting. Larry Do you know which beam pattern you have on those 10W LEDs?
