playboy Posted May 29, 2013 #26 Posted May 29, 2013 We do get a lot of high winds at times but very little snow. The one you bought looks like it's mounted through plastic. I'm thinking the UV rays are going to kill the plastic in a few years and the wind will just take it away.
Cougar Posted May 29, 2013 #27 Posted May 29, 2013 Just figure out maybe try it and see how you like it, its cheap enough to do that with I am down in a valley and I am about 70 miles or so away from ANY broadcast towers I only get 8 channel's
CaptainJoe Posted May 29, 2013 Author #28 Posted May 29, 2013 These hills are what's killing me... Some of the signal calculators have my area as a DEAD ZONE!
dacheedah Posted May 30, 2013 #29 Posted May 30, 2013 and it depends, the best calculator will use lat long but it's one of those you won't know until you try. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=90
bkuhr Posted May 30, 2013 #30 Posted May 30, 2013 wineguard uses a decent program to find your area, list your channels, and help you choose the proper antenna(their models) http://www.winegard.com/kbase/antenna_selector.php You can start with zip, then move your pin exactly to your house
