ACE50 Posted May 28, 2013 #1 Posted May 28, 2013 Got a chance to ride a VTX1800 which I almost purchased before my RSTD and WOW! SOOO glad I wound up with the TD. I can't think of any other bike now I would rather get. I can keep up with the VTX and the TD I think handles better. Scraped boards a lot on VTX. With the new links I haven't yet on the TD. Much smoother power (of course), ride much smoother.................just OH YA! Heck the only downside to a RS is the weight and maybe a little tall in the saddle but I'm 6'3" so I'm cool.
ACE50 Posted May 28, 2013 Author #3 Posted May 28, 2013 Heck, the only reson I moved up to a bigger bike (VT1100 Sabre, good bike BTW) was a friend let me have his Valkyrie for a week and I realized, hey I can handle a big bike OK! Just didn't like the foot position on a Valk, loved the smooth engine though. So started looking. Went to go buy that VTX1800 and they sold it an hour before I got there. I was pissed. But not NOW! I'm keepin this thing!
FuzzyRSTD Posted May 28, 2013 #6 Posted May 28, 2013 Glad your comfortable. Best two wheels I have ever been on in 35 yrs of riding. Man, it sucks to get old.
ACE50 Posted May 28, 2013 Author #7 Posted May 28, 2013 Bet you're enjoying the cruise control too. Just another big plus!
1joeranger Posted May 29, 2013 #8 Posted May 29, 2013 I had mine now going on 5+ years. Still haven't seen anything that looks better to me. The Valkyrie catches my eye from time to time but mostly as a distant runner up. I would like to ride one for a while just to see how it handles
